Just a quick comment - in quicktime, if you first start a webcam record window and then do a screencapture it'll grab both. You can place the window wherever you'd like - it takes a lot of CPU though! I've done this method for coding tutorials before :)

Yep and if you select "View ==> Float on Top", this ensures that the camera floats on top of any window so that you have a picture-in-picture effect

Thanks Justin, I needed to capture the training I was attending and I look no further then to your channel. I tried quick time but it captures huge file so I will easily run out the storage in about 30 min. Hence I tried OBS and all day long training with about 10GB FILE. Not bad. Thanks again.

oi mate i think you can include a webcam when using built in macos screen recording you just gotta click add movie recoring in quiketime however you can trim the webcam box on both sides of the box

Not mentioned here, but when importing a Quick Time recording into Premiere Pro, it glitches your final video output. Thought it had to do with inconsistent fps settings, but no end of manipulations helps. I just think Premiere doesn't like QT at all. Loved your reviews of video editors ! Same excellent style of documenting with surprising in-depth overall guide in a very short format ! You left out Camtasia, assuming because of PC roots and not best adaptability to Mac ?

I’m guessing not available for iPad Pro , I no longer use a laptop as my iPad has and does everything I need, I use the built in screen record when creating content but use LumaFusion to edit. I always used Screenflow on my Mac but it doesn’t look like they will be creating an app for iPad. Always enjoy your content

This was very helpful. Thank you. I was wondering if Screen Flow or Wondershare will pick up my aggregate device for the two mics that I will be using. When I try to add the aggregate device to Quicktime it ends up muting one of my mics. I know I did the aggregate device correctly because on garage band I hear both mics perfectly. I'd prefer to have this all done in one single software instead of trying to sync the audio in post. Hope you will answer this question for me. Many thanks!

Hi, when I choose "Other Location" in Mac Screenshot Toolbar and set the location on external HDD I can't save it ;/ Any ideas why ? With locations on internal / system HDD is fine. With external HDD is error with saving there (exFAT - I can save files there on my Mac).

Hi. I follow your videos and find it very useful. I am trying to operate my new apple devices but infortunately stuck with some topics. I have a paid subscription to a jewellry group. The owner has allowed to screen record the facebook videos and other pre recorded videos. The lady has recorded the videos on VIMEO. when i watch on smart tv by screen mirroring the screen size is small. I need help to watch and record videos in a bigger screen format along with audio. I need to log in to my paid group. I play the video. Then i press screen recording on i pad .it shows screen recording. But when i open the saved recording it shows the main screen and not the video. I am not able to get back to the video that i want to record. Also done other way round. Pressing dcreen recording first.then.... The other issue is using macbook pro. I have followed how to enable the screen recording button. But searching the video from the fb group or logging in does not work. Also i have watched videos how to scroll down to the bottom of the page. It takes ages to search videos month vise. ( fb lives starting from feb 2022). I will appreciate if i could be helped to sort this please. When i press screen mirroring on i pad it keeps showing but does not connect. Have watched several videos to connect to sony bravia smart tv using remote/ settings. There is an icon when the side bar is scrolled. It says not playing. What is that please. The default Mac screen recorder is terrible and the reason is because it makes the recording lag like you would not experience lag while your doing what your doing but in the screen recording you see tons and tons of lag and no their not like frame rate issues and than you can use a editor to make the frame rate higher their actual lag
