Canva does include a recording feature (similar to Loom) for presentations, but you can’t record anything outside of Canva, and you also can’t do basic edits. In Loom, you have more video options, but you don’t actually create any designs. I hope that helps.

Great question. I don’t know of one personally, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. My hunch is that it’s rare that people are recording a screen as well as their camera on a screen that size, especially since you’d need to use the phone screen to operate it, which would put the camera very close to your face. Hi there, thank you for this video. I had so much trouble with Descript. It would stop recording at 40 seconds no matter what I did. Customer service was horrible. I even went and purchased more memory and RAM but nothing. I wanted it because of all the features, especially the way you can edit through text. Is there anything you can think of that might be an issue? I use Windows 10 on my PC. Or, are there any other recording for computer/face that do the same thing? I used the free version of loom, but it doesn't have as many features as Descript. Thanks for any information. I am using this to create an online course.

Hi Linda! I’m so sorry to hear you had trouble with Descript. Without being able to see your computer and your specific use case, it would be hard for me to diagnose the problem, unfortunately. Thank you! And great question. Although I don’t have an exact answer for you, I can advise that you’ll likely need a two-part setup because you’ll need a camera separate from your iPad, which could either be a smartphone or a camera. And depending on which equipment you use, it could require different recording tools. I’d recommend searching on KZbin to find another video, since it won’t be one-size-fits-all, but if you plug the iPad and camera into your computer, Ecamm might be an option: witandwire.com/ecamm (partner link)

Thank you! I’ve changed my equipment and recording tools over the years, but I believe this was recorded on an iPhone and with a combination of the recording tools referenced in this video. Any of these options would work and yield a similar outcome: VIDEO RECORDING TOOLS (MENTIONED): - Loom (free trial): witandwire.com/loom - Descript (free trial): witandwire.com/descript - Screenflow: witandwire.com/screenflow - Zoom: witandwire.com/zoom - Ecamm: witandwire.com/ecamm MORE GREAT VIDEO RECORDING TOOLS: - Tella (save 30% with code WITANDWIRE): witandwire.com/tella - Screen Studio: witandwire.com/screenstudio - CleanShot: witandwire.com/cleanshot - Camtasia: witandwire.com/camtasia For transparency, I also work with a contractor who edits my KZbin videos.

Why does Loom upload to Cloud? That could be a problem for those using Mobile data like Me with the laptop tethered to the Tablets internet. I think a better option for Me is to just record a video of My face on a phone and do screan capture and add the two together after.

Loom is best for people recording screenshare videos on a computer connected to wi-fi, I'd agree with that. If the method of recording on your phone works better for you, I'd go with it! There are plenty of great options that can work, and each suits different people.

Can I change voice and have filter on any those platforms????

Good question! I know that some of these platforms have filters, but I would recommend searching this question in the support area for the platform you're most interested in. Team Wit & Wire

When I use zoom, everything looks good while recording, but then when I export and upload it looks low quality and gets labeled SD. Any ideas what I could do? I'm going to shoot my face with my phone separately and my screen share via zoom and iPad and see if that helps. Thanks!

Great question. It’s tough to say without looking at any individual tech stack, but in general, recording locally (ie not over the internet, like Zoom) will usually give you the best chance of your highest video quality. Beyond that, like you said, changing your camera is going to have the biggest impact.

Thanks so much! Good point about how it would help to cut out the internet connection aspect. I also found a weird workaround where I can export the zoom video in 720. Open a new imovie project with a 1080 clip. I import the 720 zoom clip and then it lets me delete the original 1080 clip and export the prevoius 720 clips as 1080 and it looks better. Thanks for your help! @@witandwire

Would any of these tools also record two camera's at the same time and give the options to alternate between the two views, just to add more interest ?
@witandwire Жыл бұрын
Great question. It’s not possible with Loom, and I also don’t think it’s possible with Descript unless you get a bit clever. (You can easily upload multiple video tracks and edit them in Descript, but I haven’t tried a two-camera setup to know if it’s functional.) Screenflow works, and Zoom might work if one of your cameras “called in,” although I don’t think I’d recommend it. Another option is Ecamm: witandwire.com/ecamm, which I have a feeling might be the most intuitive. I hope that helps!

Hello, I like your video. What I want to do is to record my screen and record my voice. I want to login into my AWeber account and explain to my audience how to setup an autoresponder. I would like to record moving the mouse as I explain what to click. Can do this with loom or zoom? Which is easier? Thanks
@witandwire Жыл бұрын
Great question. I would recommend Loom (witandwire.com/loom) because it creates sharable recordings, while Zoom is better for live events. With Loom, you’ll get a sharable link and a page where your video lives on a landing page, or you can choose to embed it on a landing page on your own site. But with Zoom, you’d most likely have to download the recording and host it elsewhere. I hope that helps!

For some reason the Logitech software is not working on my MacBook Pro. And I read a few reviews saying there’s an issue with that. So I think I need to find other option.
@witandwire7 ай бұрын
I’ve heard that as well, so if you’ve found issues on your Mac, I agree about trying another brand. (It doesn’t happen with all Macs, but you’re definitely not alone in the feedback.)

Is it possible to change the background after the recording. Just curious?
@witandwire Жыл бұрын
Great question! It isn't possible with Loom or Zoom, but there are a few more flexible options with Descript (witandwire.com/descript) and to an extent, Screenflow. But if you're looking for that option as a core feature, I might recommend something like Tella (witandwire.com/tella)
