What's your workflow like for recording? Is that a USB webcam that you're using running into your computer? Trying to find the least intensive way to screen record a CPU-intensive app AND capture footage of myself as I've had issues with lag in the past

Great question. So the beginning part was recorded with my camera (EOS R). The screen share was recorded using Screen Studio. I typically either use my built-in webcam on my MacBook Pro or my iPhone camera connected to my mac. I now have a Camlink 4k so I might start using my EOS R camera. That said, all screen recording I try to do within the computer. So audio and video are recorded with Screen Studio. After everything is recorded I typically do basic editing in Screen Studio then export to Premiere Pro for final edits before publishing if needed. Hope this helps! Welcome to the channel!

Can you record directly to the computer from a cell phone or camera? No switching, just full frame capture from your external device.

Are you looking to record just video from your cell phone/external camera? Or are you looking for both screen capture and video recording? One awesome thing about Screen Studio that I recently learned is that you can extract the audio/video/screen recording/system audio files separately by clicking "File" and then "Extract recording files".

Thanks for confirming. Screen Studio creates a project file which you can save on your computer. It allows you to extract the individual elements. You can always download the app and try it out. You won't be able to export without a license, but you should be able to get a good feel of what it's capable of. @@ArtemioSilva

I can't get the audio from my rode wireless go2 that is connected to my Sony ezv10 to show up on the screen recording and the mic and camera and screen studio show audio passing through but does not show up on the screen recording after screen recording is done. Can someone help me with that?

Great question. I've only briefly checked out Tella so I don't have a complete opinion to share with you. From what I can remember with Tella, it's a great option for screen recordings with the option to add backgrounds. I believe Screen Studio stands out with it's cinematic zooms and overall UX design. It probably depends on your use case. For example, if you're looking to quickly make a recording to share online something like Tella or Loom could be best. I actually use another program for quickly making videos to share online quickly vs. the more produced ones. For the more produced look, I think Screen Studio does an amazing job. It's used by software companies to showcase their software in promo/demo videos. I should add Tella to my list to check out again. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with. the ONE feature I need is the ability to Pause the clip while recording....that is a make or break for me..I don't want to edit out multiple chunks later.. does this one have that?

That said, I would highly recommend suggesting this to the Screen Studio team as they are very helpful and responsive. Hi, does this app has option to switch between camera and screen, means if i want to show only my video for short time then back to screen and video, like CleanShot X, what's its way.

Great question. Right now, there isn’t a way to switch inside the app. I feel like this might be on their roadmap though. That said, if you record both camera and screen in Screen Studio, you can export the individual files and setup a multi-cam sequence in a video editor like Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro. Great question my friend. At this time, I don’t believe the software has this capability. That said, I would recommend bringing this suggestion up to the Screen Studio team as a feature request. Yes, they allow you to record system audio from all apps or select apps. If you want to use the camera, you will need to select an audio source. Otherwise, you should be fine just recording the screen and system audio. Hope this helps! Welcome to the channel!

Jazk hi there, can you tell me if this recorder can record system audio, like i do tutorials for logic and garageband, and i need to play samples at the same time as talk, hopefully this can do it

Hello friend! I just checked and it looks like they do have that feature. That said, you can always download the app before you buy it to make sure it does what you need it to do before purchasing. The record system audio is a feature you can turn on and off. You can even select if you want all apps or only selected apps. I must say I'm very impressed with this software for screen recording. I bought screen studio and I'm really excited to use it, but for some reason my Canon m50 is having a hard time connecting to it. I record a short test video and everything seems to be working fine. I can see myself in the little rounded square while filming, but I get an error in the editing portion of screen studio. Anyone else using a Canon m50 having this problem?

Instead of my face on the screen recording, it’s a black screen that says Eos Utility with a red triangle and an exclamation point in it. I’ve had that issue with other recording softwares but the normal fixes haven’t worked so far.

@@MrJamieGriffin Absolutely my friend. The Screen Studio team has been very helpful when I contacted them. The Telegram group is also pretty active. That's super frustrating. I have an EOS R and have used the EOS utility on occasion. I haven't tried it with Screen Studio yet. That's strange how it shows up before using it and then messes up afterwards. I haven't used the EOS utility in a while. Is there any settings that might help adjusting there?
