On free apps it's hard to recover videos. Most of the free apps lets you recover fewer files this thing goes for most of the free apps. Till now I couldn't find any free app that recovers all your files. Even paid ones won't recover your entire data sometimes.

If you used dr. fone then it should work. Because most of the people use dr. fone software to recover files. There are other softwares but good ones are mainly paid ones. And paying money for just recovering random photos i cannot recommend that. Dr. fone also has paid version but i'll not recommend you to spend money on that. Free softwares are always tricky ones. If your developer option is ON and USB debugging is ON then it should recover.

I think you selected only images section. When you recover files it will ask deep scan or generic scan. If you choose generic scan then it will ask what kind of files you want to recover? here you select .mp3, .mp4 or WAV extension. Then these files will be recovered.
