I also found this link on NaturallyCurly.com that might also help in finding products for protein sensitive hair. www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/protein-sensitive/166273-best-products-protein-sensitive-hair.html

@@user-fr5tt3fn2l It took me about 2-3 months to get my complete curl pattern back. In retrospect, the AsIAm Curl Enhancer among other hair-friendly items like argon oil is pretty useful for healthy curls. To this day I don’t understand why that happened to me, but I’m glad it was temporary. If this occurred to you, I’d suggest using healthy hair products and not use any form of heat on it until your hair completely recovers!

Great video! Let me just add that when your hair is heat damaged, as in it is basically straight with a slight wave, it's probably not as dry and therefore won't require as much moisture based products and deep conditioners as your naturally curly hair. I currently am dealing with heat damaged hair that has a slight wave and it is SO easy for me to get into moisture overload and my hair starts falling out. However my roots are dryer (because that's my natural curly hair) so that's where I add the moisture based deep conditioner heavily and more moisture products rather than applying it to all of my hair. And vice versa, I apply protein conditioners heavily to the heat damaged parts because my natural hair does not need that much protein. Just thought Id add this because I wish someone had told me this before I started my hair journey. Good luck!

I don’t know what to do with it when I was a baby my hair was like ringlets and when I was about 10 or 11 I started brushing my hair. I usually straightened my hair about once a month so it isn’t heat damage. My curls pattern just disappeared from brushing it. I got a short haircut a few months ago. My hair was under boob level and now its at shoulder level. When my hair was longer it would have these really pretty ringlet curls at the end but it was filled with split ends so I decided to chop off a whopping 7 inches and now my hair looks like its been brushed through several times. The hair won't form into curls any more just sad frizzy little waves. I have been doing the same thing to my hair when it was long and even changed my routine a few times but nothing seems to work! Any ideas? I'm lost here ):

I also rarely use hot tools. The only hope I have is to do heatless hairstyles and wait for it to grow out so I can go back to my old routine.

I’m 16 and I’ve been straightening my hair since I was 7 (my mom played a big part in this bc she didn’t like my curly hair) so I ended up hating it and straightening it everydayyyyyy agh I regret it so much. My hair is still curly, just the front parts are a lil….yk😬It’s a little hard to lay off the heat but I’m taking small steps by only straightening my hair once in around a 3 week span but I’ll use a good heat protectant, hoping to lay off the heat completely. I really hope that by the time I’m 18 my curls are back completely and I see some growth🙏🏽

I love this video! I'm in the middle of my curly hair transition so I'm at the point where I have curly, wavy, and straight hair. 😭 I was kind of giving up and assuming my hair would always be this way but after watching this video I have regain a new excitement for what's to come! I'm about 3 months in so I definitely have a long way to go!

My hair is actually curly, but because of the heat damage it is damaged and dry in the front and it's fine in the back.. LIKE WHHHHHYYYY??!! 😭

How often did you trim your hair when you where transitioning?
@RisasRizos9 жыл бұрын
Cesia S. that all depends on how damaged your hair is. if it's severely damaged, I would say maybe once every two months. if it's not as bad, perhaps 3 to 4. of you could do a big chop and get rid of all of the bad pieces at once!

This is giving people false dreams. The only way to get rid of heat damage is to cut off the damage. You should have remembered to tell your subscribers that you did regular trimming to get rid of the damage. Hair is dead, once severely damaged, there is no going back.

Beautydivine you are so right I had heat damage and no product on the market got rid of it. Trimming and staying away from heat is the only solution.

Beautydivine So, true! Severe heat damage can only be repaired by cutting it off. No product will bring back kinks from severe heat damage.

U could still use oil on ur before every wash.... Iv found castor oil and olive works really good if u trying to get ur curls back. Oh and Scrunch ur hairs when it's wet, with a little oil....and scrunch .(with a t shirt or hands) do not use towel. Hope this helps. :)

Omg you are my inspiration... I have been straightening my hair since I was 20 I'm now 37 and my curls don't come close to what they were. I have decided to go curly due to severe dry scalp and lack of shine, I have to be honest I hate the way I look with my curls, but your videos are giving me hope. I don't know how to style, tame or control my hair, I have bought all the products recommended, so here I go! Wish me luck and THANK U, THANK U for your videos, please keep them coming!

Thank you SO SO much for this video! I really needed this. So far I am doing everything right. As far as the heat; I don't flat iron, nor wand my hair. During my "awkward hair phase" What I did (and actually still do) is, roller wrap my hair, and sit under the dryer for straight hair look. My curl pattern sort of came back after that. But I still have a lot work to do. I have do the finger coiling, satin sleeping, once a week/month treatments, and vitamins. other than that you and I for the most part have the same regime. I have some questions; (1) Do you use a hair diffuser? (2) What deep conditioners do you use? (3) How long does it take to finer coil? (4) Is there any other advice you can give me???

My hair used to be really damaged in middle school and some of high school (curly at the top, sort of wavy in the middle, and straight at the ends). I went on this hair journey around my freshman or sophomore year of high school and my hair got a lot healthier and was in much better shape. And then, years later, I decided to straighten my hair for my birthday this yr and f***ed it up all over again. It's not as bad as it was before but it's still frustrating and almost makes me want to cry cuz all of my hard work went down the drain in an instant😔😔😔
@RisasRizos3 жыл бұрын
I understand the frustration. All of that work!! That's okay though, we can get through this! try a protein treatment once a month and steer clear of straightening for a little bit!

Your video content and quality is awesome! I'm at the beginning stage and you hit my struggle right on the nose. I've noticed a couple youtubers mention the treseme naturals conditioner. I'm 13 year old swimmer. I go to swim for more than an hour 6 times a week, in a pool with chlorine. when I was about 4-7 years old, I had beautiful spiral curls which I hated and tried to get rid of. I was apparently successful and all I have are curls in the nape of my neck and little ones by my ears. Idk if chlorine damages hair like heat. will your method help my hair????

so I've just started my transition and I actually see results slowly. I have been doing it for almost a month now. I do have a question, is it bad if I shower every 2 days since im only in the beginning? I know im very late but I really need an answerrrrr

LOCK&KEY actually that’s really good because every time you wash you wash the natural oils out your hair so the longer you don’t wash your the better I recommend once a week depending on your hair type

Hey chica! The first step is to try to stop straightening it. That will make a big difference. Put your hair in more updos, try the protein treatments and deep conditioning treatments. Over time you’ll notice the curls coming back

Hey I'm new to your channel & I subscribed!! I love your videos and love how you go in depth in everything and have a variety of different curly hair videos, I wanna start by saying I have heat damaged hair but before I used heat I use to have type 3A & 3B I now have type 3A hair in my crown area and towards the middle ends I have type 2C but I also have a few strands behind all my hair that are pretty straight I try to finger coil the strands but I guess I wasn't doing it right till I watched this video and I was really thinking about just cutting those strands really short because I never thought they would ever curl back but after seeing this video and how your hair was when you first started is amazing and gave me hope for my hair. I've completely stopped using heat tools and was also wondering since I'm trying to get my curls back and avoid heat I was curious to know would using a diffuser also fit into a heat tool since I have came a cross curly girl videos that do use diffusers
