How-to Redeck a pontoon

Dan, I don’t want to use carpet again. Would it be ok to use truck deck liner paint or roofing paint? I’d like to have water resistance AND some no slip surface for my children’s little wet feet. Thank you.

Great video one problem you said wait till the glue starts to change.... So i did this... Took about an hour to 2 after starting at the front.... Now it won't stick

You want treated plywood made especially for pontoon decks. It is a nominal 3/4 inch thick, 4 feet by either 8 feet or 8 1/2 feet. Don't buy lumber yard treated plywood. It has voids and tends to warp badly. If you don't have a nearby source, you can have it shipped truck freight. Sometimes trailer makers stock the right wood if you don't have boat building suppliers nearby. Make sure your boat is square (measure diagonals) and level front to back and side to side before reattaching the plywood.

I'm decking mine with Trex decking light weight and never rot no need for carpet or finish, no shrinkage , Marine plywood is the finish of the wood, like for a wooden boat finish. when you want the wood to show through It has nothing to do with water Resistance .

Marine ply IS weather resistant.. Plus a lot more structural , with more veneers
