I was able to reset my toner cartridges for this model by using the process that I found by doing some googling for a "better way to reset brother" toner cartridges.Summarized, open the inside cover where the toner cartridges are located. Next, press the back and X buttons simultaneously. Then, press the back button again. This should bring up the toner reset menu.I had to try a number of times...I think I wasn't pressing exactly at the same time on those two buttons OR they intentionally build it so you have to do it multiple times to make it work. In any case, it is now reset. Happy Camper

Could you not offer a full starter kit with all four colours and the hardware gubbins? Also, what is the shelf life for unused toner? I don't print that much and I wouldn't like it to go all clumpy if I don't use it for 6 months...

I assume a 330w 350c Heatgun would suffice to heat up the copper hole burner the same as a blow torch. I got one for soldering.

Unfortunately, since the UK is not in EU (which I don't care about) we have to pay Import customs tax of like 20% or something in Austria when buying from the UK. Well there's no objective way of comparing print quality. So it comes down to personal opinion. The HL-L3230cdw is good enough for all our literature and correspondence we send out to customers. And that's with our refills in them obviously hahahahah

I have a question please.. I reset my yellow toner successfully the first time on my Brother HL-3230CDW. However, the second time round I try to initiate reset when the arrow shows up, and it will no longer re-set. Is it because perhaps I accidentally tried to re-set the HC cartridge by mistake? and now have stuffed it up and it will no longer re-set. Or is my best option to go for a re-set wheel?

We tried it swapping between standard capacity and HC and it worked for us. But these "soft resets" are always a bit hit and miss. We offer our experience of what happened for us, but as you can see, we can't guarantee it will work for every printer. Other videos claim to remove all remaining toner before refilling. ie, when refilling an original cartridge with refills. They claim "variation" in color and chemical composition as reason. Is it necessary or not to do so? Let us know... THANNKS!

Our method also removes all the remaining toner: by printing with it. It is necessary to avoid background scales on prints. This is a very long standing and well known issue within the industry

My brother HL-L3270 will not reset! I touch the back arrow and x buttons at the same time over and over again, and my printer just does nothing! I have reset once before, but can not do it this time, and it says my black is out and it absolutely is not out, was just printing perfect and now I can not print anything. As you can see at some length in the video, we used the HL-L3230cdw. For the wheel, we used one from the Brother original high capacity black cartridge Re: resetting starter cartridges, it worked for us. Again, described at some length in the video

Hi do you sell the reset wheel for the dcp-l3550cdw? If you dont sell them does the reset wheel only come with the high capacity oem toners or does the wheel come with the standard oem toners? These toners have a chip? Cheers for any help

Haven't got any reset wheels to sell yet. As you can see, we used the the reset wheel from a high capacity original black cartridge. For more chance of success, I suggest you do the same. They do have chips, but that fact hasn't stopped us refilling repeatedly

I don't know of a reason why the standard cartridges would lack reset wheels. I don't have knowledge of pieces of tape over sensors having a role to play. As you can see, we were successful and we didn't do that.
