For those of you who are wondering exactly how much refill to use without overfilling, I have always weighed my markers. As long as you know what the weight is of a new one, you know not to exceed that weight. New weight of Copic sketch varies from 14-14.4 grams. Completely empty sketch is about 11.3 grams.I'll grab my scale and go thru all my markers and throw each one on to see where it's at. Dry out usually occurs around 12-12.5 grams. Then I can spend a half hour and refill all markers at once and be done for awhile. I will go to around 14 grams when refilling and sometimes that gets them almost a bit too full, so maybe a little less would be fine. It's fairly accurate. Just make sure that both end caps are on scale too since 14 g is total marker weight. After doing a few times, you'll get a good feel for how much to do. I'll only have to check weight a couple times and sometimes will get it right on.Does anyone else do this way? I've been watching other videos but have never heard of anyone doing this way..I also will check my new purchases out this way. If I get a really light one, I'll take it back & exchange it.

This is actually the proper way to do it. If you don't refill them completely the nib of your marker will start to crystalize

My microphone records really quiet sound too. What I do is right click the video in my timeline (in Premiere Pro) and click "audio gain." Then I set the audio it anywhere between 10 and 20. As for music copyright, I stick to royalty-free music that is allowed to be used for commercially (not all royalty-free music is allowed to be used commercially.) But beware some sites like the popular Incompetech have copyrighted songs that you don't realize are copyrighted until you get a notice from YT

Definitely get Sketch instead of Ciao if you can afford it. I normally recommend the 72B set, but if that's too much, go for the 36B or the 25th anniversary set.

The inside of the marker is one chamber, so it doesn't matter which side you refill. A reason your nib might have broken is that maybe it was brittle from being somewhat dried out. I don't know how you store yours, but I store mine with the brush nib pointing down so it never dries out.

Aah yes I take my chisel nib out to refill. You dont need the tweezers, the nib slides out really easy with finger nails as there is an indent which sits flush against the casing. It doesn't affect the useable area of the nib at all. I drip it in until it makes the brush wet, like you. However I always say to wear gloves too - especially refilling blacks etc. I once slipped with my black refill and it was all over my hands. I also find if you spill it on your pen use alco hand gel to clean it :)

I buy individuals because if I bought a pack I would have repeats. I bought the Anniversary set anyway exactly half of them were colours I already had. Buying a set only saves you money if you buy from certain stores. Some stores charge full price for each marker in the set.

I think it refers to how long the ink and nibs will last if you never refill them. Of course once you refill them they will be revived. I was just going by what the Copic website said, but I've had most of my markers for over 4 years, and they still work perfectly, even the ones that I've never had to refill. I think it's more like a disclaimer statement so people don't complain when their nibs dry up.

I've had them for closer to 4 years now. Three years is all they guarantee, so obviously they should last longer. For example, look at the expiry date of food. The true expiry date is actually later than what's listed on the package.

It could run out in a day, it could run out in a few months. Depends exactly how much you use it. Most of my markers have never needed refilling, BUT, the more markers you have, the less you use of each one. If you only have a few colours, they are going to run out a lot faster.

It doesn't really matter which technique you use. Sometimes I go dark to light, sometimes I go light to dark, but most often I go lightest, darkest, mid-tones, back to lightest, back to darkest for tough up, etc. Kind of random.

Ciara Just Ciara Well each marker is a different colour, so of course you need a separate refill for each marker. Unless you want all your markers to be the exact same colour. :P

RK That will alter the colour of the marker by making it lighter. Each time you refill, it will dilute the colour. You can maybe use a few drops if you REALLY need to finish your artwork that day, but you will have to buy a refill after that. I personally would never do this because I don't want to change the colours of my markers. I think the rubbing alcohol method is for evaporated ink, not markers that have run out of ink from usage.

Think of it this way: If you fill a bunch of markers with one colour, they will all be the same colour. The refill ink can't magically change colour once it's in the marker. So you need to buy refills for each individual marker.

I don't know about other types of copics, but copic ciao, the fine tip side has a thin grey line,and you can pull it off. I've pulled it off multiple times, because ink gets on the cap and makes it sickly, then I pull of the cap, the the hing inside the marker comes out with the nib and cap. That it how I reccomend refilling it, if you can pull of the thing

Baylee, I know I'm kinda late, but with the squeaky thing I don't think it's very accurate. I use X-Press It blending card and as soon as I got brand new copics they were squeaking. They were brand new, never used, and weren't streaky, they just squeaked a lot. I'm thinking it might be the thickness of the paper and the surface but I wanna make sure.

No there isn't a universal refill because each colour is a different combination of pigments.
