Wheels are tedious to clean, prep and refinish. I did a wheel clean up on my Gen 1 Mini R53 two piece wheels. Lots of work. Can’t wait to see your paint booth set up. Cover EVERYTHING in the garage. The paint finds its way everywhere. Did some rust repair on that same R53 Mini and even tented off there was blue “over spray” that landed on my wife’s Audi Q5. I used a clay bar to remove it off the car but I am sure its on everything else in the garage as well. Run filtered fresh air and a vent fan. Watch the temp and humidity as well.

Good job on the wheels. They will last a long time after your treatment. I use Ford silver but I imagine quite similar. WRT the GP, yes speed of cars is quite dramatic as is the noise! I attended in 2010 with my boys and they were using the same Healeys! Hamilton and Button 1 and 2!

Great job as always and glad you had a wonderful holiday! Question: Could you have used brake or carb cleaner to degrease the wheels? I'm just curious more so for degreasing. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Thanks. I'm sure brake/carb cleaner would have worked. I didn't have any on hand at the time so just used what I had.

Good progress again, but good to take some time off for sure. Those F1 cars always sound so weird to me. Still not used to how high pitched they are or their high revs and been watching it for years.
