I am amazed at how thick and tough that concrete is dude. Unbelievable. And you worked bloody hard there for dear old mum. 👍

Phew.....That was hard work!!!!! When the jack hammer is struggling there is not much else you can try. There is a few ton of concrete there. Fair play for getting that far. Have you got a skip to get rid of the spoils or are you saving it all till the end. Just had to look up what a hibernaculum is 😄 Look forward to the next update .........All the best.....Nigel 👍🏻

Hi Nigel. Yes there was a huge amount around 1.5 ton of rubble and 3 ton of soil removed in total. a nightmare to be honest but all done now :)

The base of a Anderson shelter wouldn't of had that much concert in it...lol

I know mate, I practically sat on the jackhammer at one point, I reckon it's just as well I got all the kids I want as I won't be able to have any more after that lol.

Yes it certainly can, But it may freeze completely in winter. Ideally you need more that 24 inches of depth
