You should point out that ate supposed to register your planes on the FAA Drone Zone site, and enter the serial number of the remote ID there.

Soooo.... I have three I am finally installing today. Took them out of package and have no idea which one goes with which QR. Dumb mistake. How can I find out the serial numbers?

Is the registration of the EZ ID with the FAA or only with FliteTest or just the phone?

The FAA registration if a RID module is done on the FAAs drone zone web page and are added to your pilot ID info if you have one. Not on FTs phone app.

@@FlyingBuzzard It does not register with the FAA. I just got mine and registered it with the FT App but it did not show up in my FAA Drone Zone account. So people need to know, registering it with the FT App is not enough, you still have to register with the FAA as a separate step.

Can this Remote ID unit just be registered in the FAA DroneZone as I don't want to install the app on my phone?

The only reason anyone is worrying about RID is because the masses were too stupid to say, "Hell no!", and not register a thing. Everyone should have given the feds the middle finger on this! This is giving up your freedom for nothing. You don't get privacy or security, because half of everyone just gave them all up! 10 Grams doesn't seem like much, but it's a ton when it comes to pylon racing a light-weight 200-inch, 16-ounce plane running 115 MPH, and that 10 grams just became 300-350 grams at turn 1 and folds the wing. RID is part of the full-blown surveillance-society tyranny. Wake up folks!

The requirement was put into the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. Talk to your representatives in Congress..

if your plane can't handle an extra 10g without structural failure then you shouldn't subject it so many Gs,

@@drabberfrog Apparently, you've never raced pylon before. You relax on your turns, and you might as well not even show up on race day. Take 10 grams and multiply it by 30-35 G's. Light weight planes win races. I took 1st place most of the time, so half the guys put a bounty on me to crash me out, and the others just quit racing. I offered my genuine help to anyone that wasn't competive or looked like they needed some pointers, but guys don't want any help from a girl, which is too bad. My dad had me flying model planes before many of them were born.

@@aviatrix2 well, if all the planes need that 10 extra grams to legally fly outside a FRIA then I don't see the problem. What race doesn't have power and weight requirements? The $100 obviously sucks but hopefully the FAA can streamline the creation of FRIAs so you won't need remote ID at RC fields.

No one has a right, especially a government agency, whether in public or not, to force a citizen to wave their constitutionally protected rights (1st, 4th, 5th, 6th Amendments) and submit to, without probable cause and/ or a 4th Amendment warrant, government tracking, surveillance, and control of a citizens private movements while enjoying a business or hobby, all while collecting and recording evidence that can, and will be used against a citizen in any FAA prosecution against them. And, in most cases, forcing a citizen to pay for the surveillance equipment that will be used against them. It doesn’t get anymore unconstitutional than that! Land of the FAA fee, home of the FAA SLAVE!
