Hi, I had issues registering my magic remote. Read the help guide in setting on my LG tv and found this. Switch tv off at mains for about 30 seconds. When power restored I pressed and held the guide button. My remote registered and the pointer worked. Thank you for LG TV onboard help guide

It was very helpfully, I have bought the new remote, the pointer was not reacting, I decided to restore TV factory settings, and then nothing was good, but after doing recommended steps, the remote started to work properly. Thank you, it was great advice.

On my LG C9 TV 2019, USA model, I have to hold down the Guide button for 5 seconds to re-register. But this alert comes on just about every day so I now just ignore it. Am waiting for LG to send me a replacement.

I've got an older remote and this method won't work, but I've managed to register the remote by holding Home & Back and than pressing left or right of the circle and than the centre button inside the circle. After that Registering message appeared.

Please can you advise. Somehow, don't ask me how, but I have accidentally re programmed the buttons on my LG AKB73615303 remote control, I can only think i leaned on it somehow, and now, although it works for some functions , a lot of the buttons do not do what they should, and I am unable to access many functions at all, including fav, 3d, and others. There is obviously a way to reset the button functions to the original settings. can you please tell me how to do this. The remote works, and the receiving red light flashes on the tv when every button is pressed, but the functions are wrong. I'd really appreciate your help. It's still not working for me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I keep getting the message "Bluetooth service needs to be initialized" on the TV. I have tried power cycling the TV from the plug. Turning the TV on and off from the remote (this function still works) Checking for obstructions. Replacing the batteries in the remote. When I hold down the home and back buttons, the light does not flash at all. Even if I hold it down for a solid ten or twenty seconds. power cycling the TV from the wall plug resolved the issue for about one minute, but after this, most of the remote functions stop working, and I can only use the power, volume, arrow keys and home button key. Pressing OK, just shows the message "Bluetooth service needs to be initialized." and the red LED on the remote stays on solid for about 10 seconds.

I have an older LG TV with the early magic motion remote "stick". We don't use it very often but it won't register. I have 2 new remotes... None of them will register. All basic functions.. On off volume channels mute all functions but pointer not working... And message on screen after trying to register... Registration failed...

I have the LG 55 Inch 55UR73006LA Smart 4K UHD HDR10 LED Freeview TV & I'm having difficulty finding a suitable 'Magic Remote' I can 'pair' & use my voice. I ordered one remote after consulting with LG UK customer care office who said that the remote I intended using : LG Magic Remote 2020 - AN-MR20GA, IS compatible & would work. After following instructions various & sundry on the 'net, I gave up & returned this remote as I had an 'on screen' message saying "NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THIS TV".... Thanks LG for the bad advice.I returned the said remote. I'm now here 'cap in hand' & asking for help with this problem as I don't want to keep buying/returning remotes. Grateful for any help. There are some knock off magic remotes which simply do not work. They work to change volume or the channel but they don't have the pointer or microphone. I found this out while trying to fix my own. Like so many others, I had broken the wheel button - its a design flaw. So I ordered a cheap replacement. It worked, sort-of. The pointer never worked and I couldn't use rhe remote to control my set top box, as I could with the original. I decided to open the new remote, remove the wheel switch and use it to fix the old magic remote. This is where I found that the old remote has sensors for movement , a mems microphone and a sophisticated microcontroller & 2.4Ghz antenna. The new remote was identical on the outside. Internally though it just had a lR LED, a simple control chip and buttons. No magic whatsoever. I was able to cannibalize it to get the wheel switch out though.

I do this and it says on the TV “Registering new Magic Remote” then a few seconds later “Failed to register Magic Remote. Please try again.” This repeats again and again. Batteries have been replaced, TV powercycled, remote powercycled. Any suggestions? Is the remote faulty?

The worst bit is that it’s stuck in a loop now. Every time I click the scroll wheel it doesn’t select the icon I want but rather it initiates a new remote registration process. I can no longer select anything and my remote is almost useless. It was working better before I tried to restore the remote Magic functionality (that had worked for years before it packed up recently and I found this video)

I’ve had nothing but problems with this remote. It never wants to relink(doesn’t even flash after holding buttons) and only shows a Bluetooth error with all buttons working but the OK one, so dumb/disabling a whole tv for something as simple as a remote. I wanted to buy a c1 oled but think I might go Samsung this time. Have had probably 5 lg tvs but they still sell this crap remote with new tvs

Our LG smart tv came with apps loaded but we can't seem to watch disney plus error comes up saying drmerror. Disney+ can't understand why it's not working. It was working when we brought it now we can't watch it. All other apps are fine just not disney plus. Anyone has this issue that can be fixed? Cheers.

Why don't you sell this with the TV you pay all this money for the tv . They give you a standard remote control. But if you want to do other things like add Bluetooth speakers and things your TV you have to have this remote I don't get it
