Getting braids and conrows done too tight can also take your edges out. Those African braiding salons be trying to get every strand of hair and pull too tight

A tip I have for everyone is...if you buy or use the black head scarf that Sally's beauty supply sells or any other scarf,... Tie your hair down with the shiny side down touching your hair to prevent dryness and helps edges stay moisturized
@marianb25307 жыл бұрын
Okay, thank you for the tip. Do you watch Discovering natural? If so, check out her latest video regarding the "My Queen" something like that...scarf. I think I may purchase it, but I do not have a lot of hair...It's huge! It's silk material, which is probably why it's on the expensive side. My hair is worth it though, lol!

Thanks for the informative and lively video. I have hair loss from anemia. I began adding more iron rich foods and my levels have improved. I shaved all my hair to get a fresh start. Bald with no edges ain't too cute but I've had to improvise. Gone are the days of choosing vanity over healthy hair. Tip to share: I bought a large satin scarf and wrap it over my pillow. I really needed this because my hair on my temples and from me parting it on the same side all time has cause my edges to thin. I love braids when I’m either tired my hair or try a new style put this year with me moving to a new area i tried a new stylist and she did a good job, but just braided why too tight to the point i was crying and couldn’t go to sleep cause my hair was hurting and because of that my edges are almost gone. Your video was very informative and I’ll start being more consistent with oils and i know when i use to work i was amazed on how my hair grew so now i need to get back on track. Thanx!

Thank you!! I really needed to see your video! As I was sitting and thinking that it was something that I took before my last deployment that was causing my edges to get Casper 👻 on me, but you spoke about low iron & anemia that caught my attention. I was diagnosed pernicious anemia that requires me to have a B12 shot every month for the rest of my life, and also that my body isn't/wasn't producing even the minimal amount of iron needed. I apologize for lengthy comment, but I now have a better feeling of what was/is causing my for my edges to be so thin.

I've got 8 laser treatments and getting monthly $50 fups however, the laser treatment does not take care of the gray hair follicles accumulating. I'm thinking of stopping the laser hair removal and starting electrolysis treatment to remove the gray hairs. What do you think?

my top tip is to consult with a dermatologist. My derm gave me microcortisone shots and heated laser therapy (both covered by insurance)along my hairline to revitalize my edges. if you've got the money, a clinically proven way to stimulate regrowth is PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy. My derm showed me pix of her own edges, recovering from wig trauma as a result of PRP therapy.
