I was diagnosed with CCCA in 2015. I always noticed my hair would grow to a certain length and break. But I experienced extensive shedding and thinning. I Went to a black female dermatologist who did a biopsy and diagnosed me with CCCA in 2015. My hair still continues to grow and break- especially during the winter months as it gets colder. I’ll have a little length during the warm months- a little past my ears. And then Once October/November comes around it starts to break off. Stress is a big factor too, and I’m in menopause which does not help. I don’t have any bald spots, just very brittle and easy to break hair. This condition is exhausting but I’m thankful to still have hair on my head to work with.

Where's the lie?. Sis, you are right on point. I went curly for a few years and notice my hair suffered more and it didn't grow like it did before. Yes, My curls were popping but I was tired of the high maintenance just to have popping curls. I had a routine with the right products and regular trims but something was still off with my hair. More dry, more split ends, more time, more money on products then needed. My hair was happy straight then it wasnt curly. I didnt listen to my hair thinking curly was healthier. Thank you for the scientific break down.

Thanks Crystal, this is a very frustrating and sensitive issue. Mainly because you feel helpless and sometimes nothing seems to help, including seeing a dermatologist. Your advice is well received and appreciated. ❤😊

Love your hair style looks great. I was diagnosed 2 months ago very scared. My has been natural hair for 20 yrs and very low cut. Dr said it’s auto immune inflammation. On doxycycline to calm down the inflammation in my body in minoxidil only on doxycycline for four months hair is growing back slowly. Scalp is OK better than it was cause I had shiny bald spots. I wear my hair very low so it’s OK. no more shiny bald spots using all your products and I’m doing good

This video was very informative. I realize I’m not taking care of my hair as much as I should. I was discouraged about keeping it healthy. After this video, I feel better about managing my alopecia. Would you being willing to do a video hair consultation? Thank you for the knowledge.

Why am I being told that I have ccca, apparently for years, but I have never experienced itching or any pain or discomfort of the scalp? Is this a misdiagnosis? I did have a scalp biopsy but the dermatologist would not tell me how she rolled out other things mentioned like lupus. I never had blood work for this
