Thanks for posting this! This is one of the most professional relaxer technique videos I have found! The use of the half and half technique was an unexpected surprise - I found only a very old video on this and still had unanswered questions. I like that you covered the steps from the relaxer all the way through to styling. I am planning to texlax my hair after 6 years natural. My hair has gotten very curly over time and now it pretty much only does one style. So, between my hair being fine stranded and very, very coily, I want to make sure that I have enough time to apply the relaxer, but not leave it on too long. It I was not sure about what to be after applying the neutralizer. I have seen a lot of fast and sloppy videos, but it is rare to see one where the proper technique is used. Nice work!

I’ve used the protein treatment before neutralizing, but not deep conditioning after it. I deep condition after the shampoo. I’m going to try it your way for my next relaxer. I agree with not needing to leave the neutralizing shampoo on for so many minutes like other KZbinrs do. I neutralize twice and I’m done.

Nice love, Yeah incorporate the deep conditioner and let me know how you like it. The 10 mis neutralizing shampoo thing is so unnecessary. ❤❤❤💕💕💕

Wow 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 First time I saw the half and half method it was actually a Jamaican young lady. It has helped me so much. I used the Dark n Lovely relaxer once and it’s good but since I started using Lye relaxers I haven’t crossed back. You did an awesome job. So quick and thorough. I am going to try the comb method especially for my type 5 qrs hair in the back and crown as those are my difficult parts. Tfs. This is a whole lesson ❤

I have never heard of a protein pack before neutralizing shampoo. It sounds better. And I think I’m going to change and do my relaxers every 2 months instead of 3. I feel like I was doing more damage waiting 3 months. 1 of my goals this year is a healthy hair regimen

I didn't know until my friend told me. Definitely a game changer. I agree to switching to 2 months.

For many years the protein before neutralizing technique has been used on my hair. I relocated to another state and my beautician back home and my new one where I live both did this. I find it results in putting back the strength and the ability to retain moisture from the process.

This was very helpful. Thank you. I relaxed my hair yesterday. I had to shampoo 6 times in order to wash out relaxer completely. It took so much time. I will use your method next time. Using protein and moisture treatments before neutralising makes so much sense.

I did this process last week, but I put a shower cap on the back to keep relaxer off the back half. This half n half method is great. I relaxed the top in 13 min, and the back in 13 but I think I'll go 15 in the back next time.

@@Selfluv-qj1dk I normally don't but I move quickly and right when i am doing the comb through I can see if the hair texture is soft and straight. I will wash it out after Sometimes with thicker hair you may have to sit a little and let the hair properly processed.

This is a really neat and efficient method for doing a self relaxer, I wish I had seen it when I did self relax. Putting on a protein treatment before neutralizing is a trick I picked up from somewhere a long time ago and I always felt like it made a real difference. How long was your stretch? This was a really great video. 💜

Never use a protein treatment with a relaxer, that’s too much protein. However you can use a moisturize deep conditioner before neutralizing.
@TheLoveweaver Жыл бұрын
The nuetralizing shampoo stops the relaxer from further straightening, ie; breaking down the bonds of your hair. you should always use your relaxer according to the manufacturers directions. it may feel like its doing something putting it before nuetralizing but I assure you over time your hair may become over-processed & brittle. Also you should wait a week after relaxing before doing a protein treatment. A deep conditioner is fine on relxer day though.

yes only use lye relaxers. I never have liked no lye. It doesn't last as long and it doesn't have the same shine. The only reason that they like to put the no lye relaxer on the market is for two reasons. People think its really no lye not true just a different type of lye and also the hair doesn't break off as fast how ever they will dry the hell out of your hair. So this leads them to a lot less law suites. At the end of the day its all about those companies making that money!

I thought these relaxers company's are being sued relaxers have dangerous chemicals that are harmful to women & kids
@twitterblackdove2 жыл бұрын
Lots of harmful chemicals in everything, makeup is also guilty which is why we see so much so-called "clean" branding after decades of abuse. Hair relaxers are not the only endocrine disruptor in the cosmetics industry. Oils used for hair i.e. avocado, olive, castor...you name it, are ALL endocrine disruptors too. So, when it comes to danger and cancer-causing chemicals, would you stop breathing, drinking water and eating? What are we to do?
@vanyajoyner85142 жыл бұрын
@@twitterblackdove I hear you, cigarettes, alcohol, still being sold. For decades. I only relax my hair in the summer hair looks great for awhile. Then I'll wear a kinky hair and make a pony tail, wig , braid. Then to keep relaxing my roots every six weeks.
