As a new trucker it was good to see how to open a curtain side trailer step by step. Finally I know how it's done and I will be able to do it by myself in the future. I were in south London with a heavy load on it, had to unload them with a crap pumptruck and got a backpain because I had no idea how to open it on the side. Sadly they don't show it to us in schools even it's important to know if you work as a driver on curtain side. Thanks for your professionalism and the best on the roads

This is why KZbin is great, great guys like yourself take 10 mins out your day to show people how to do something you don't get taught while learning how to drive a hgv. I remember my first time after passing my Class 1. Got sent from Glasgow to Congleton in a curtain sider and had absolutely no idea how to buckle the curtains or anything, only ever done class 2 fridge work in cages before. Really helped me out whatever video it was at the time I watched. This one is explained and showed a lot better. It does help people massively well done 👏

@@TruckerJohno you would think so but no. Im with an agency as no one else hires new drivers. Get 0 support. Today I got a job with curtain sider and tail lift. No idea what to do. Learned from KZbin including your vid. Also injured myself using the lift that I was not taught how to use safely.

I'm just starting out as a trucker and have never seen this being done so found it really helpful, thank you. Be nice if it had demonstrated on the 35hrs CPC but all we got was a lousy dolly knot and many hours of boredom lol

Same here. I started hgv today I was lucky that the load I was carrying was very very light. But soon I will end up securing loads and to be honest I do not have a clue and still confused and very nervous for tomorrow and till someone shows me physically on site I will not learn. I will have to ask the loaders and hopefully they will show me out of good will. I got the licence but never was shown how to secure loads during training.

Depends on what your carrying if its pallets and less than 400kgs you can use the internals if more than that should be strapped over the top

@@TruckerJohno Yh, if you needed to open both at the same time I've been told it can be easier to strap the curtain to the back door, what the easiest and best way to do that? Cheers.

If you pull them right back if you have internal straps you can lengthen the strap pull it around the curtain and and attach the strap to the body near the back doors or or you could just use one of the Curtain straps to pin it to the body when it's pulled back

it states the lashing point is rated in the little label. is the body or combing rail rated? The rail that the straps are mounted to in the roof is that rated? how does the system consider the verticals in terms of load restraint performance standards?

Yes it is just be careful of crushable goods you don't want to squish anything because it will probably be rejected
