CompTIA Network+ Ethernet Standards.
This is meant for educational only and mostly for testing purposes. This should answer your 10Base-what questions. :)
Update:
The N10-007 standards only state these:
100BaseT
1000BaseT
1000BaseLS
1000BaseSX
10GBaseT
LS and SX are fiber, and I like to think of them as long and short, so I'm not going to redo this video anytime soon. :) Best of luck on your exams!

Blows my mind when a 6 minute free youtube video helps you remember the standards better than a college course that charges thousands of dollars does. Thank you Maria, this will help me pass the Network+ exam.

THANK YOU!!!! I watched this a week ago before starting my Network+ course videos and felt like my brain got scrambled. :/ Came back to it today and was able to follow along, and with some quick notes was easily able to figure out your examples! This helped so much!! :-) It is peeps like you that make learning this stuff actually fun.

Is there a list of what all the suffixes mean? I can't find one. I'm confused because you said S means 300 m in length but 100GBASE-SR10 has a max length of 125 m. It seems like a lot of the fiber standards are all over the place in terms of length.

This video explains very well. Thank you. I am however still not clear at 6:00 10BaseT. This would match a Cat6A, and you also mentioned "this is actually over Cat6 but that C twisted pair mnemonic works just fine", and you put down Cat 5. What does that mean?
@MariaJonesGutierrez
@MariaJonesGutierrez 4 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't remember what I said. LOL. But 10BaseT is older, and generally only comes in CAT5. In real life I have never seen that slow speed over CAT6.

@MariaJonesGutierrez

I left them out on purpose because they aren't on the Network+ test (yet). So it's a testing strategy - let's only care about what's needed for the test now. As you work in the field you may be exposed to them and have to learn them, but these are the most common.
