7.6kg is extremely heavy for over 9g’s of bike. Compounded by geometry of a touring bike on road race frame…really wish people who work in the industry would stop blindly towing the industry lines just for views and likes. This Scott is worth maybe a 3rd of it prices tag.

i brought a Scott foil 20 with ultegra after seeing one on your channel. Mine is now 7.49 kilos. Ive changed the wheels to Zipp 404 firecrest, rotor aldu carbon crank, Berk Lupina saddle (95 grams) and that's with vector 3 pedals, ax lightness bottle cages and Garmin mount.

Absolutely! My Gawd, just drop some body weight. Also what accessories are on your bike? How aero is the stuff you wear and your positioning? I can understand wanting some upgrades like the model of groupset. I could have just as well went with Shimano 105 but I wanted the Dura-Ace not just for weight savings though. Wheels are a tough one because there are so many to choose from but I know I would have went with the ones he chose.

Great Content idea + well presented as always. Based on Scott website, the stock tires are Schwalbe One Race Guard Fold @ 290g per tire for a 700x30 which is some base TUBE Tire. Schwalbe One & Pro One *TLE* designation are their Tubeless tire offerings which also come in lighter. The Schwalbe Pro One TLE tire is similar in weight to the Pirelli P-Zero Race TLR. Both are great tires. Gotten to the point that whatever Tire Brand (Conti, Schwalbe, Pirelli) that fits (ie; mounting) my wheel the best is the one that I ride.

If you are chasing grams the Rival rotors are all steel and weight 162gm. Ultegra rotors are steel and aluminum and weight 128gm, for 160mm rotors.

When looking online it seems like the front and rear derailleur for rival etap axs is the same as for the red version. Can anybody confirm? If they are, where is the difference of the two?

they are very similar in look, the motor and battery are exact the same the main difference is the hardware for the parts like the carbon derailer cage or titanium finishes on the bolts, that is all, also ceramic bearings in the pulley wheels for the sram red compared to the rival

I see. Thanks for the info. I just had a similar "project" with the new giant propel (8.6 kg out of the box, no padels, 😵). Upgrades that where most effective: tires, wheels, cranks, cassette, rotors, handlebar, saddle. So very similar to this one. Frame, fork, stem, derailleurs, chain, shifters, brake calipers + liners, bottom bracket are left original. But other than maybe stem, the savings would be marginal for lots of $.

Damn, i got a foil from 2016 ish, rim brake, mix match dura ace/ultegra and cheap fulcrum alu heavy wheelset. It is around 15.8lbs 😂. These disc brake bikes are getting ridiculous price/weight ratio.

I really wish Bike Companies would offer all their high end frame colors as built bikes and loose frames so you could build up you own bike EXACTLY how you wish. Poor guy has to spend all that money because he loves the color of the frame. Then a bit of a pain to sell off the parts he took off.

@@samuel8590 I could copy that same paint scheme including graphics for under $400. If you doubt that I have the know how and skill click on my avatar to look at my titanium frame that I painted. The frame builder quoted me a price of $850 to paint it so I got me a compressor, and spraygun, and some other stuff needed to do the job right and I ended up with a perfect end result. Not a flaw in the job. The paints were sourced from TCP Global which has great quality and colors. All totaled I spent about $600 and had a good time doing it. Plus I now have the tools needed to paint more bikes. If a painter tells me it will cost $1K to paint a bicycle I would tell them to get lost.

Also, I don't think theres any big weight difference in front mech from Rival to Red. I think it's like 7grams or something. Not worth the price Sram asks.
