How To Remove 2011 - 2020 Toyota Sienna Spare Tire - Spare Removal Jack Location - Change Flat Tire

If you need to change a flat tire on your Toyota Sienna or simply just want to remove the spare tire you should do the following.
TO REMOVE THE JACK AND TOOLS:
1. Remove the cover.
2. Remove the adapter socket.
3. Remove the jack.
4. Remove the wheel nut wrench.
TO REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE:
1. Slide the front passenger’s seat to the front most lock position and the right side second seat to the rearmost lock position so they will not interfere with the jack handle.
2. Open the right side sliding door and you will find the flap on the floor. Pull back the flap to find
the spare tire clamp bolt.
3. Attach the adapter socket over the spare tire clamp bolt. Connect the jack handle and the adapter socket. Turn the jack handle. The tire will be lowered completely to the ground.
4. Take the spare tire out from underneath the vehicle and remove the holding bracket.

Thanks a lot for the video! In a few minutes I was able to put the spare back! A couple of notes: 1) There seems to be a correct side of the tire to fit the hook/tool that is attach to the wire so if after trying the square is not going into the tire just flip it. 2) when pulled close to the chassis, if the tire is not centered it wont be flush, rather sticking out. If that's the case simply lower it a bit, push it gently towards the center of the car and once it's properly centered raise it again. It should be flush with the chassis, sticking out a tiny bit. Hope that will be helpful to somebody!

Whener you get your tires checked out, have them check out the spare psi level as well.

This is the only video I found that shows taking the cable out of the center of the tire and putting it back. Needed to make sure I did it right after it was left for me to do when my tire was replaced.

Thank you for doing this video! I didn't realize you could just pull the spare out from under the car once lowered to easily remove the wire. I tried to do it with the spare still partially hanging under the car and could not fit both arms under the car to remove the clamp (I would need two: one arm to hold the tire up and the other to remove the clamp itself). Now I realize I could have just completely lowered the tire and moved it out from under the car first! Now as to why Toyota made a weird 5-sided lugnut to hold the spare tire, I am not sure, lol.

I read that Toyota made a weird 5-sided lugnut to hold the spare tire because shops were using an impact wrench, the same used for the lug nuts, to tighten the spare tire nut. People who got flats couldn't get the spare tire down. Toyota wanted to make that impossible, so they swapped the six sided nut (same a the lugs) for the 5 sided nut.

Thanks - great help for finding the spare. Unfortunately the morons at Toyota thought it would be fun to make the lug wrench that comes with the car, a toy. It’s covered in rubber and does not fit on the lug nuts, so you still have to call roadside service to change your flat, or buy a real lug wrench before you have trouble.

If you are wondering if it is difficult to get the spare out with a passenger side blowout...yes. Drive onto a rock, branch or curb. Get the spare out and then jack on level ground. Or call a tow truck and have a coffee and tip well.
