I was thinking of removing the rear seats to reduce weight, and put in a flat board, I want to have a flat surface with the middle seats folded down. does it make sense ? lose the weight and get a flatter floor inside to sleep?

On the Y62 there is a huge amount of space to definitely be able to sleep in and still even keep one of the middle seats up. Removing the rear seats definitely saved some weight as well🙌

by removing the rear seats and spare tire, that must reduce the curb weight and increase performance and mileage?

Yeah removing the rear seats helped but removing the spare wheel meant adding a 150l long range fuel tank and a heavy rear bar to hold the spare wheel so that added a lot of weight back.. it’s always a compromise between weight, mileage, accessories and capability..

How much do these seats weigh?

It was a while back so I don't remember exactly but it was somewhere around 50kg.. They are actually quite heavy..
