How To Remove a Broken Male RCA Plug From Its Female Connector, amp, headphone, audio

I read these instructions at another site online and thought it would be nice to have a video. This was filmed by my son Cam, and I was the director. :-)

My husband ripped the cable out of the TV in a hurry and snapped off all three male ends. I was panicking that I'd either have to pay for an expensive repair, or just never be able to connect my XBOX again. I turned to Google for answers and your video was the first to pop up. I had already tried using a nail to get them out, but hadn't thought of heating it with a lighter! It worked like a charm! Thanks so much for the tip!

I was just certain this would not work for me... but it did! Only 3 years without being able to plug in RCA video! (Ony S-video and computer). I am with Omair... Cheers guys......this worked a treat.....I used a straightened out paperclip ....the concept is the hot nail melts the plastic in the inside of the pin in the TV......when it cools it hardens around the nail and bingo!...you can slide it out...Well done fellas

Just tried this trick! My cable broke off into my alpine amp in my car and this worked fairly easily and quickly. I used a safety pin so I would have a less of a chance burning the sides of the input on my amp. Worked perfectly.. Thank You!

Great tip. I had knocked the Pay tv unit over and the red plug had snapped off both ends and we're stuck in both the pay tv unit and the tv. By following your advice both plugs were removed and everything is running fine. Thank you so much.

Oh that's the device from pay TV provider you attach to your TV with av wires. That's what the Foxtel guy who installed it called it so I just thought that was what they're called. I don't know maybe everyone refers to them by different names lol. Thanks again for posting your video

This really did work! Awesome. It took us 3 tries but we got it out. I think what made the difference wad on the third try we blew on it to cool it off. I think that it adhered better that way.

Absolute legends - saved my speakers. On this I would say is that you have to pull it out very slowly and on a slight angle, the inside of the rca can separate from the metal coating, leaving the metal in the female plug, and if that happens you're super fucked! Thanks guys
