Just one question - if I use the camera adaptor with my iPhone is it possible to connect the output from the mixer to the phone and using the other lightning port the outpput from the phone to a line-in input on my mixer at the same time? I want to get callers into my radio show and for them to hear the monitor output and converse with them via a mic plugged into my mixer.

The last time I tested it, the camera adapter will only let you charge through the other lightning port.

I seem to have a problem with the pro movie app not connecting to my audio interface adapter. I’ve hooked up everything as you said using my interface like the Irig stream you have to my iPhone and installed the app, but it doesn’t seem to show up in the app. The interface I use is a Saramonic SR-AX101 Device. I also have the BeachTek DXA-2T which is similar to the Saramonic Device. I use both of them to 2 of my canon cameras to the mixing board and it works perfectly fine. Not sure why it’s not connected or showing up on the app. Would these 2 devices work with the pro movie app or do you have any suggestions. Thanks

Will these setups work with taking phone calls to a mixer, for a podcast? I’m assuming it would but was curious if you knew before I bought the necessary adapters. I’m looking to have my 2 host podcast be able to take iPhone callers. Obviously I want to have the caller hear us via our mics and we hear them through our headphones. Fantastic informational video! Question: I would like to patch an external audio source while in a telephone conversation. Does anyone know if Android disables the camera audio while in a phone conversation? I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone. Thanks in advance. I suppose I could provide line out of my preamp to the phone's mic input using TRRS to USB c being careful not to overdrive the mic input. Or, get an attenuator.

I have watched several of your videos and have not seen this connection yet only in the opposite direction. I have tried to do this connection with a regular iPad Pro adapter and found that the adapter would get hot and eventually stop sending any audio to the mixer.

This is an awesome video as I was trying something similar and couldn't get it to work. I have a couple of questions though. I am steaming using an android phone on KZbin. 1. Considering my phone is far (about 100 feet) from the audio mixer (same Yamaha model) what cable would you recommend. The USB interface? Hello. I play saxophone with karoke tracks. I use 1. microphone to record saxophone sound and send it to mackie fx through xlr cable 2. Play the karoke track on my ipad and connect it to mixer using a trrs to 4 inch converters ( right in red and the other one in the other) For out put I use aux cable to send from phones jack on mixer to marshall speaker ( as i want to listen the karoke track while playing sax. For recording i connect my phone to mixer using a usb cable. ( via usb to type c converter) on promovie app i select pro fx ( audio mixer) in audio input devices. And press that red button on promovie app to record. The problem is- i find that volume of the final recorded track is very low. The pro movie app interference also prompts that there is decible loss of 67 db. Please guide

We've been wanting to do a video on external compressors and EQs for a while now, but the reality is that they barely make/sell them anymore. Almost everything new is digital and for the price of an external EQ, you can upgrade your mixer to something with much more powerful tools built in (Rodecaster Pro, QU16, etc.).

I went through this whole process last year during lockdown and discovered that the Apple Lightning input on my 13 Promax does not provide true stereo LR recorded audio. Panned music once recorded is reproduced in mono LR combined. Can you confirm this from your observations?

There’s no such thing as a balanced stereo cable. If you want left/right you have to use this cable.
