When installing a new drivers seat (on a 2003 V70), do you have to use the electronics from the old seat? If so, how do you disconnect/re-connect them? I'm asking because I bought a good used seat, had it installed and while the seat controls work, the heated seat function doesn't work and the seatbelt and airbag warnings are lit up?? Thanks ....

Hi Michael, did you leave the ignition on while removing the seats? This will trigger the airbag light and it will need resetting. Are you certain the seat you’ve fitted has a heating element fitted?

Thanks for the video. To avoid air bags lights etc. do you just make sure the ignition is off? Or do you disconnect the battery as well? Cheers George

Hi George, I’m pretty sure having the ignition off works but if you need to be sure definitely disconnect the battery.

This is a 2004 and up seat. 2001-2003 is different including the SRS connectors.

Sorry about that, yes the car was registered 31st December 2004 yet it has 05-07 interior but the older euro 3 engine. I had a 2001 before but I didn’t do a video for it. I hope you managed to do yours though.

Got it out, but what a pain :) It is cumbersome, and quite heavy. In the end I pulled the headrests first (took time to find where to depress to unclip them at the rear side of the seat)

Turned out to be a Poppy Apeal black plastic center button stuck in the bottom of the latch mechanism. All working fine now. Video help a a lot. Don't forget to disconnect the battery and leave for 10 mins before disconnecting the seat electrical plug.

Don't undo the big torx. Use a flat blade screwdriver on the quick release
