How to remove a stuck menstrual cup?

Menstrual cup is a easy and economical to use. But to remove it, may be a challenge for first timers. Here are 5 tips to remove the menstrual cup.

Some personal experience tips- 1. Never ever ever try to apply force & take it out. The sucktion will put pressure & the pain will be too much to bear. 2. People who are groosed out by seeing thick blood fluid or blood on their fingers or are just grossed out by putting finger inside when there's blood, im sorry then menstrual cups are not for you yet. 3. When using for the first few times, use pad. It might leak bcz of improper insertion. 4. If it gets lost, and u cant find it, at all, dont panic. Sit on the toilet seat as if you're pooping, and the cup will come down naturally. 5. If you can feel the cup hurt inside or move inside, then you've not inserted it well. Try to put a finger and move it circularly around the rim. That can help. 6. Read the 1st point again & never do that if you're panicked. Just dont. Hope this helped.

If you're struggling to remove the menstrual cup, try using one hand to pull the stem and the other hand to break suction. It worked for me.

@@madalishatomarsahba52 try applying pressure like when you do while pooping, then use one hand to pull the stem, and take a finger of the other hand and just push on the cup, you will feel the suction break. Once it breaks, put your thumb in and grip it tightly and gently pull it out.

I tried menstrual cup for the first time and i have just removed it I must say it was very difficult it took me 40 minutes plus I am feeling pain in my vaginal area .. After trying for thirty minutes one by one from.my right and left hand respectively it made me really anxious .. Then I used both my hand from.one hand I was streching the stem and from the other hand I made the grip and yes it worked ! I must say it needs courage to use menstrual cup for the first time .. It took me 3 shift 15minutes of each at the time of ejection and it took me around 40 minutes at the time of removal ..I have pain there . but im happy about the hassle free 6 hours .. It felt like I had no periods ..

@@alanna2 Yes! I just pulled it out after pinching the base of the cup and it hurt very much. I just hadn't learned how it worked. Bought an extra small cup, got comfortable with it and now switched back to the old small size. What works for me is squishing the base with my thumb after pinching it and pushing it against the back wall of the vagina. That's when the seal breaks. You really have to get used to it. Now I've used the cup successfully for 3 periods with no pads.🙂 Let me know how it goes for you. Don't give up!

Yes mam...i tried for first time and then after my second insertion....i couldn't feel the cup inside me. And for the removal i was terrifed...as i was not able to reach the stem of the cup. Dont know if it went too mch inside...bt i took atleast half an hour to try and trace and remove it slowly without causing much discomfort

Never do that, it may lead to prolapse..always remember to break the suction and remove the cup slowly :)

@@ambilydileep3969 insert one finger or thumb which ever is easy for u beside cup. Go inside as far as u can. This way the suction will break, then with same finger or thumb u can pull cup down. Try inserting finger from the back side of cup not from front. It will be easier to break seal this way

It's my first time using the cup. After inserting it I'm feeling pain on my upper and lower abdomen together and I feel it is due to the cup only. I'm delayed with my periods with 4 days and after a practice use of cup I'm delayed with 2 more days. Also while removing I realized that the stem had almost crossed my cervix, which was extremely difficult for me to remove. I actually struggled for 2 hours. Your video helped me at 5 in the morning. Hi Dr. Using a diva cup.. Was in the bathroom to discharge the cup but I sneezed real hard and I knew something happened coz our toilet bowl turned bloody red. I just couldn't tell if the cup popped out and swam in there as I didn't feel it using a toilet bowl brush when I searched for it.. Did measure ur cervix height before choosing ur cup? If no, then that's is problem. From ur experience it seems u have a very cervix so a v shaped cup , cups with very long stem would do well than bell shaped cups and cups with usual stem.

I could insert the cup but it doesn't pop. I cannot hear the pop sound. Have to try it 3 times and then I *think* it popped but not sure. Plus while removing, I am unable to "break" the suction. I tried the wiggle method and removed it, but the suction is very strong. This was my first time and haven't kept it for more than a minute. I'm still scared if after hours when I try to remove, I won't feel the stem. I could insert and remove the cup twice in about 18 minutes and it's my first time. Do not read all the negative comments befofe inserting or removing it.. It'll just stress you out. Just be positive and relax. Anyways, if you have a remedy for the mentioned problems, kindly let me know what helped you to make the process easier!
