@@TheYorkshireBikeMechanicOn a different topic , can you get blanking bottom bracket shell incorporating plates for bicycles like the grey one in the background ? A neighbour wants to de - motorise his pedalec due to a "crippling" software update that lowered his motor's assistance to 25 kilometres per hour . It prevented the Speedbox from working , as well as causing the cadence sensor to not detect properly . His motor is not as smooth - running as it was before the update . The display is reading from an incorrect wheel circumference setting for the bicycle setup , and is frozen in this state . The firmware memory of the motor chipset has made several changes and the frequency of detection for the speed sensor has been changed . A spread spectrum jamming signal is now coming from the motor motherboard to prevent any wireless Speedbox style devices from being received by the console display .

i had a good stuck seat post and i mean stuck took it to a few bike shop around 3 of them and each time the seat post was getting damaged good style twisted bent none of them could get it out of frame so got it back home sat there looking at it for an hour and ping! in my head i oiled it drill a hole right thru post for the largest screw drive i could find and put it right thru the holes and turn it one way and the other while lifting it and wow came out easy the bike was a specialized rock hopper alloy

If it's really stuck, sacrifice the post and save the frame... cut the top off the pin, then use series of adjustable internal reamers to remove the soft aluminium post.

You should put a strain gauge or industrial scale on it to see how much pulling force is required, and keep a league table! Winner gets a new seatpost 😁

I’m at a last resort stage with a trek 520 steel frame aluminum post. But I’m nowhere near Yorkshire. Plus the waiver makes me nervous, though I understand it. Wondering what your thoughts may be on using gallium to “melt” the aluminum out.
@TheYorkshireBikeMechanic Жыл бұрын
Hi, Thanks for watching. I would not like to comment, sorry
@bmxscape3 ай бұрын
heating wont really help unless you are actively cooling the aluminum also. since aluminum is a great conductor of heat, it will take the heat away from the steel and since it expands at a faster rate than steel, it will very quickly surpass the rate of enlargement of the steel and be more stuck

Hi, Thanks for watching, They are made of steel, they are off the shelf but are turned by me to make them the right diameter for each seat post, www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=split+collars&_sacat=0

Would you say that’s the loudest sound in cycling? Would a 60 psi tyre pop be quieter or louder than that!? I always think about my 60 psi kick scooter tyres, what if they pop? Would it result in hearing loss?

Hey Dave. I had to purchase a Bosch Gen 2 DU because, Bosch wouldn't warranty their POC after just 5600km I did manage to get a warranty (so they tell me) and the return of the replaced DU. Would you be interested in having a look at it and 'taking it to bits'? It failed with the typical 500 error code. Bearings feel fine Let me know and I'll send it to you 🖐

I gd a similar case on one of the bikes I found on scrap and could not handle it But no tools just human power I didn’t try to heat it up It was alu cannondale cad 2 and alu seatpost Think someone had to stick oversized post on it 🤣 My female friend made on this bike return trip to Edinburgh and back to Glasgow and the seat post was down to lowest position frame i would say 16inch size rather small 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣
