Great video. How hard would it be to install a 4L60e back into a car like this that originally came with a T56? and what else would be needed to accomplish this? The car I am referring to has just bolt on mods. Thanks
@jimmy21480_midnight_special4 жыл бұрын
installing the trans is pretty easy, but you'll have to get the flexplate and converter too. You'll need to change the harness out for an automatic harness and you'll need a tune for the trans. you'll also have to plumb the coolant lines, changing the pedals would be great but not necesarry. you'll need a center console with a shifter and cable.

The torque cover, is also known as the bell housing, correct? I have to pull my t56 out of my 94 bird tonight and trying to get the best knowledge I can, to do so. Your video has assisted me in the preparation for what is to come, thanks

Manual shift cars dont have a torque converter. In your car you'll have a flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disk in the bell housing. Thanks for watching!

Yea, I read one of the other comments about the automatic and for some reason that didn't click in my head. In the video, you just unbolted the gearbox from the bell housing, correct?

After I installed my new clutch and put everything back together... my clutch pedal went to the floor. Have you run into this issue after a new clutch?
@jimmy21480_midnight_special7 жыл бұрын
Yes actually. It turned out I didn't have the fork seated on the throwout bearing correctly and it slipped off. Maybe check that out?

Thanks, I took the slave off and re-positioned the fork. I think the slave fell out of the circle indent at the end of the clutch fork, because there was no pressure when i took it off. Either way, both were made sure to be correct and it is fixed!

@jimmy21480_midnight_special7 жыл бұрын
My clutch is a Spec stage 3. It's really good. It's never slipped and i run a 6 speed with drag radials and a S60 rear that lets me launch at high rpm's. I get most of my parts from Summit. Some I've had to order directly from the manufacturer. Just stay away from cheap ebay/amazon stuff and NEVER buy anything made in China! EVER!
