How to Remove a Tag on Facebook

Want to remove tag on Photo or video on Facebook? Facebook makes removing tags easy.
Facebook also has a setting that allows you to approve tags before posting them on your Facebook profile.
You can untag yourself on any post on Facebook.com and Facebook mobile app.
Removing the tag will not remove the post from your profile and simply remove the tag.

The real problem is, that Facebook removed the setting where you could remove yourself from tags easy. If someone tags you in a comment, you can not remove it.

I think you're taking it WAY too seriously. When I tag somebody, it's either because I want to include them or want them to see it. Not all of your friends see every post you make. If I stopped to ask for permission before every tag I ever made, I'd have HUNDREDS of unnecessary messages in my inbox!

This is for someone who was tagged. What if you tagged someone, then stopped being friends with them, and you don't want to see their name come up?

It’s not showing me the option to remove tag. It just says hide all from that person. No option to remove tag

How do you remove or disable hashtags? I'm an admin of a group and don't allow hashtags in the group. But many decent looking posts don't get permitted because of hashtags on the bottom of the page.

For those without the app: you can only undo tragging (yourself or others you accidentally tagged on a picture) switching on "desktop-mode" from your webbrowser. Then additionally reloading facebook. Being on real desktop view now, you can search the picture again and might find a tag-symbol to click, so you can finally X on the tag you want to untag. I bet it's just a coincidence that it's that complicated, if you don't use the app ...
