How to remove an E30 steering column easily

fml I was looking at my steering column for hours and didn't notice those bolts! Thank You for this video! edit: Looks like there are different variations.... mine has 4 of those unusable bolts and a different steering column despite being a late model

Ahá,possibly nearest to E36. Today I have a problem,consulting my e36 manual,my steering rack conecting in one mode,but in my 318I is a diferent sistem or a invention. Had that re-ubicated the ATF bottle in front a radiator,but ever when turn speedy,the sistem lost effectivity and start bad sounds. Have revise profoundly.

Can the E30 steering column be replaced with a later model one?

I believe so, the sheet metal looks the same, you'd need to bring over all the linkage as well and cut the firewall if it doesn't line up
