How To Remove and Install Diono Radian 3r and 3rxt Car Seat Covers

Hopefully this video can help someone out with their removal and/ or installation of their car seat cover!
As it says in the description, I show how to remove and install the Diono Radian 3r car seat cover. I also explain the exact difference between taking off the Diono Radian 3rxt cover. I can't speak to the fabric covering of the Radian 3rx because I don't have that one.
Additionally, the blue cushion that is the seat pad, broke when I dried it! However, I used hot glue to fix it.

I know this is old, but I could find no other video or instructions like it on the Internet! Diono really needs to provide something better. I was working on a Diono radian q-series car seat that my child threw up on, and I was totally stuck until I watched your video a couple times and it led me to undo a couple snaps behind the headrest that were hidden. I would've been stuck all night and maybe resorted to scissors if you hadn't posted this! Anyone who criticizes you has way too much time on their hands! You're a saint for taking the time to create this, thank you so much!!!!!!

Imagine your kid pissing in the seat as you're on the road on a long trip! good luck just taking the covers off with the seat installed. These idiots treat the seat covers as if it's the f'n space shuttle ... horrible design! Horrible UX... Thanks to poster for posting this but Diono designers need to be fired!

Hi, I just came across your video when I was looking up how to remove my car seats cover. I just wanted you to know that it’s really important to follow washing instructions in your car seats manual. If something breaks like your cushion it shouldn’t be used again and the seat shouldn’t be used until you can get a replacement part or replacement seat. If you contact diono they can probably send you a new cushion and I would ask about new covers as well since you didn’t follow washing instructions. Following manufacturers instructions is so important so no part of your seat gets damaged. It is a life saving device and should be used properly. I don’t mean for this comment to sound like mom shaming in any way, I just want your kids to be safe and I hope that people who come across this video don’t make the same mistakes.

@@jlt001928 the cleaning instructions in the manual say to lay the cover flat to dry, so no parts should have gone in the dryer at all. The manual doesn’t say anything about the blue cushion specifically, but since it does say to spot clean everything except the cover, I’d assume that’s the instructions for that cushion as well. My blue cushion didn’t get dirty, so I didn’t have to worry about it. If it had I would have done my best to spot clean it with mild soap. If I didn’t feel like that adequately got it clean, I would contact Diono to see what they say and possibly request a replacement cushion.

Good video showing the major steps to remove a Diono car seat cover. 2 things wrong though: I learned a few years ago from Diono that the blue pad *cannot even get wet* never mind go in the dryer, so forget washing it. It falls apart after you squeeze water out of it. I think it would have to be replaced every time there's a pee accident. I wish it said this in the manual, or they redesigned the pad: honestly these seats can be used for 8-10 years by incontinent little people; this is not a good design. The other thing is that the car seat cover cannot go in the dryer even on the lowest setting, it needs to air dry (in the shade) instead.

You need to replace those parts that you ruined in the dryer, that is not safe to use any longer. Also, you're not supposed to dry the padding, either, it's supposed to be air dried in the shade.

Hey, Brooke! I know this is an old video, but I’m looking into getting a Diono seat for my littles. Are the shoulder straps removable for rinsing? Graco has made theirs affixed to the seats and where they attach is always smelly because of all the nooks and crannies.

Yes, they're removable with a Philips head screwdriver, but not for rinsing. Harness strap cleaning instructions "spot clean using warm water with mild detergent. Air dry completely before re-use." So you're not going to soak the straps in a bucket of water, anyway.

It was used during the initial packing and manufacture. Once it's removed from the box and fitted for your child... it gets tucked away and is never used again.

@@brookeunfiltered9278 No, it's actually useful for folding the car seat and securing the base folded up. Using straps (sold seaparately, or scrounged from random shoulder-bags with clip-on straps), you can carry this seat on your back like a knapsack. Assuming you like carrying 30-lb knapsacks. It's a key feature of this seat that no other seat does; we used it quite a few times for travel.

Yes, they do fall. It's because the internal framework is made of metal, not plastic.

Thanks for sharing, I suspect this was terribly designed but not to this extent! I mean, the kid pisses in the car seat. The seat magically appears inside your apartment and you take the covers off! What's so hard eh? This has a design flaw. Love the seat. but the fact that I have to take out the straps and dismantle the chair is horrible! Such trashy design, but unfortunately, all seats are design this way. I shudder at the thought of removing the whole seat because it's SUCH A PITA to install it! Good job Diono! Not!
