Buckin, hands down my favorite video and I’ve watched ALL of em’. My eyes were glued to the screen for all 43:32! Your axe content is head and shoulders above anything other youtube videos in the genre. I’m always yackin my head off to my buddies about ya, they probably wanna strangle me by now haha. In all seriousness, Buckin, you’re a super hero and a legend in the axe community. Your kind disposition and passion for life and all that you do has inspired me to be my best self. I come from a generation that lacks positive role modes, I ain’t afraid to say it, you’re mine. I hope to be half the man you are when I’m a bit more seasoned. Sorry for the long comment I just needed you to know you’re changing lives and I love ya buckin. AXE ON

I know EXACTLY what you mean about someone NOT SHOWING their "secrets" when doing a job! I was a newly hired staking engineer for an electric utility company and we had an engineer that was nearing retirement and was suppose to "show me the ropes". But when we got onto the job site he told me right up that he was not going to show me ANYTHING! He said he had to learn on his own and therefore he was not going to pass anthing on. As it was, he was true to his word, and taught no one anything. He thought he was the best at what he was. And he was! He was an asshole and he was the best at it!!! Turns out that I became a better engineer, doing twice the work in half the time with more efficiency than he ever did. But guess what? As I neared retirement I took the new engineers out in the field with me and I SHARED EVERYTHING I KNEW with them, as I took pride in my work and I wanted them to be the best THEY could be! The bottom line is that we worked for our customers. Those that used our electricity. And they deserved the best! So I loved hearing you say the same thing. Sharing what you know and holding nothing back! Thank you for that!!!

Friend the yard stick hit me for a doozie last year when I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in september.I'm 25 years old,from Bulgaria and had 2 exams left before I got my doctors degree in medicine.Went trough a lot of ups and downs in the past half year but I'll tell ya bud I've realized a lot of important things in that short time.I had my bone marrow transplant in december and now I feel good, it will be another couple of years until i can be more certain that the damn cancer won't come back but even though not much is certain at this point I don't really think about it that much.Most of the time honestly I'm happy as I much like you feel like I'm living on borrowed time.In this great adversity I've been able to see something few people get to see while they are alive and that is what they mean to other people and to see how many of them love you.Keep spreading the love friend and know that as long as I'm still around I'll be watching you.Best of health and lots of love from a friend !

When you are 1 year old, a year is a lifetime. When you are 50, a year is 1/50 of a lifetime. You would have to live to be 1000 years old to perceive a life that's double 100 years! Just my thoughts.
@ComfyBe4 жыл бұрын
@Samuel Eden I think Sandy Price has the right idea, but maybe didn't express it clearly enough. So I 'll give it a try. To a 20 year old, 10 years represents 50% of his life to that point. To a 50 year old, 10 years represents only 20% of he's life at that point. It's all about ratios and perception. In other words to a 50 year old, 10 years feels like it's gone by 5 times faster than it would feel to a 10 year old. That is why as we get older the years appear to go by faster and faster.

Good tip: Wedgie removal that don't hurt. Hey, Buckin are you 100% steel wedge 100% if the time? Yep, I agree … shoulders create a fulcrum for the head. The Bunker needs a completed axe tree. Hanging an axe is like a box of chocolates … you never know the kind've fit you'll get until it sits.

I bought my property from the family of a wood man. In the shed there are some old axes that are well used but very sharp. Only one is usable as the handles have seen better days. Trying to learn from you to keep my old axes alive. There are no identifying marks that I can tell but I am going to try to clean em up a bit. Need to find a source for handles or maybe make my own. Thank you, sir!

Agreed on how to seat an axe head on an axe handle. Why have a shoulder on the handle to hold the axe head up? Chop chop chop here with a fawn's foot handle, and Finnish style broadaxe hewing for rough work, here floor joists: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpTdY32Cq7SfrLc Always wanted a Hudson's Bay trade axe like that; the Gransfor forest axes look kind of similar.
