Two thumbs up!!! This is the video to watch if you need to change a battery on a 2020 Forester. Group 35 AGM, $260 everywhere except Walmart … $180, except that they are out of stock everywhere. Ordered one on line for pick up at a Walmart 60 miles away and was able to do my battery swap in the parking lot, in the dark, in the rain, in less than 10 minutes using the instructions from this video. Returned the core to the service desk, job complete. Didn’t even lose my presets on the radio.

Questions: which replacement battery is recommended for stop/start? I can't find batteries for this car at Walmart or Costco, where can I get one? Buy from Dealer or...? Is this an AGM MF battery?

remove the terminals: first the negative one, and only then the positive one. If you neglect this rule and do everything the other way around, you can cause a short circuit by carelessly applying the key to the car body. And there, not only is it not far from “trauma” to the battery, but also from a malfunction in the “brains” of the car

So he did this video in 2019 on a 2019 Forester. This just affirms what i already know. Subaru has a major problem with parasitic battery drain and their batteries are crap as well

I can’t complain about the battery in my 2020. I live in Florida which has a climate notorious for battery drain. Got almost 5 years and 85K miles out of my original battery.

THAT IS THE INCORRECT WAY TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE. ALWAYS DISCONNECT NEGATIVE FIRST TO PREVENT VOLATGE TO COMPUTER. DONT OVER TIGHTEN THE BATTERY HOLD DOWN OR ELSE YOU WILL WARP THE BATTERY CASE AND BREAK THE THIN BATTERY PLATE INSIDE. NEVER OVER TIGHTEN THE BATTERY CABLE.THERE IS A PLASTIC SPACERS ON THE TERMINALS TO HELP YOU HOW FAR YOU CAN TIGHTEN THEM
