I just found a solution, you can upload the photo on canva from your phone and later download it from there to your PC and the background won't show

Glad the video helped. As for pasting it on another image or background, you can’t with the photos app but there may be apps in the App Store that will allow. I have had this question asked to me a few times, I will look into it and make a video with a solution. Be sure to check back or subscribe for that video.

It does work on all the new versions of iOS including iOS 17. Same steps just be careful of cluttered photos. If there is to much around or touching the subject it is hard for it to grab. Also make sure to open the photo, tap on it once to see the black borders appear then tap and drag. It’s tedious at times but works.

You can’t place it on another photo with the photos app. You might be able to find an app in the App Store that has that option.

I used this photo collage app that I already had on my phone. That app has an option where I can place pics on different backgrounds. So I took a screenshot of the pic I wanted to use and placed it in the photo collage app. I then lifted and drug the subject and placed it on the pic I placed in the collage app. Just make sure you have a solid background that isn’t black or white, otherwise the subject you lift with have white lines surrounding it. If you’re wanting to place it on a black/white background, place what you lifted on a diff color background first, then change the background color within pic collage app. Wish there was a way for me to show how I do it because I’m horrible at explaining things at times

Tap and hold what you’re cutting out from the first photo and save it as a sticker. Open the other photo, tap edit in the top right, then tap the marker icon which should be right where the edit button was, and on the bottom right you’ll see a plus + icon, tap that and then tap “add sticker”. Choose the sticker from your first photo and you can place it wherever you like, use two fingers to make it bigger, smaller, or rotate. Hope that helps!

The one I have is retouch but I got it when it was a flat fee for life. It’s now monthly or yearly membership. It’s good but I don’t think it’s best. I suggest testing out a few that have free trials and then decide what you like best.

Not with this option but once it’s white, you could potentially use another app that has paint or draw features to fill it in. You would just have to search the App Store.

It’s an illusion. Basically when you pull an image out of a photo, it gets a transparent background. Because we can’t see through the iPhone, the background appears white if your iPhone is in light mode and black when it is dark mode. It’s hard to explain and i didn’t realize this myself when I made the video.

At video footage 1:14 after you got the image to move under your finger tip, there is a bar with “Copy” etc written in it. When I do this I don’t get that bar with “copy” etc. What do I need to do to fix that?
