Thank you! Your video got me thinking and I realized that I could use a stack of allen wrenches to fill a 1.5" threaded nipple hole. I squeezed in as many as I could slide in the hole and then when turning with a set of channel locks, they bound up inside removing the 1.5" pipe easily!

A quicker and easier way might be to use the large curved jaw on a pipe plier. Angle it in and turn.
