Nothing reminded me of that ease you've done it with. :)) The only thing I did easily - froze the nut. My wooden board was first to crack and I started to worry for my concrete floor. After smashing over the ridges, points, and all over the surface, the shell yielded a single crack in halves. My neighbours are lucky that my everyday meal doesn't depend on coconuts.

@rodyates26695 жыл бұрын
This is pretty good, but, I think it is better to drain the coconut first, because the water turns to slush, and makes a mess when the kernel cracks open. Secondly, it may be worth trying this: soak the whole coconut in water for several hours before refrigeration. The water in the shell will turn to ice, and make the shell even more brittle. Try it?

Hi guys, I put two holes in the coconut and drank the milk. Then I put it for 12 hours in the freezer, after that I waited 30min and then hit the coconut several times with a hammer. I didn't force it with a screwdriver cause I noticed it will also destroy the flesh of the coconut. I only used the screwdriver when the shell sticks out of the coconut flesh after hammering it. But using the hammer the most shell jumps of very easily. When dark skin remains, use a potato peeler, works perfectly. Good luck! 😉

Use the second method if you want to use it for cooking etc. You need it with the shell to grate it . Otherwise it is too soft to hold it.

I laugh at the second one 🤣 Dude,even if you don't put a mark on it, it will split in half if you break it.

People are fkin ungrateful. Came to see how to open. 1st method is absolutely awesome. Perhaps people who cannot afford the freezer thumb you down? I've got 2 sitting in a freezer now and will use the method to entertain my little boy tomorrow. Thank you and thumb up.

I just tried the freeze de-shelling. The coconut shell had developed some cracks in it from being frozen. I inverted my baking stone (to the underside) and set that on a kitchen countertop for a protective work-surface. I had only a light-duty non-ball peen hammer, but had a larger than average size straight screwdriver, which is good for prying leverage. Anyhow, by resting the coconut on the stone surface (but any solid stable one should be ok) and holding it steady with one hand while further preventing possible slippage through allowing the coconut to abut against my abdomen, and by positioning the screwdriver tip just slightly into these multiple cracks and lightly tapping the top end of the driver's handle with just the small hammer, it pried up portions of the shell quite easily and safely. But I still wore a standard eye protection, because hey, there are some amusing projectiles snapping free during the cool, novel, fun experiment! It still has the light-brown skin on it, but is whole and shelled (

I should have made the connection it can be done with a coconut because I discovered some time ago that if you freeze brazil nuts you can then crack every nut meat out of the shell perfectly whole!

Now I'm loving eating my chilled fresh coconut, but remarkable to discover, the icy ball of coconut water makes the most refreshingly delicious and healthy "snow cone" !👍👍👍💞

Sorry but India is a big country and I stay in the part of India where coconuts grow... Secondly ours is an intelligent race.... When we can invent Zero and Decimal... Picking out intact coconut is a small achievement.... Okay.... So better think before you post any other comment
