How to remove colour banding in Photoshop

Today I will teach you how to remove banding on gradients in Photoshop. That annoying stripes is not a problem anymore.

Yeah... like work in 16 bit per channel colour and have a quantiser that adds noise or dithers when you flatten to 8 bit.

Why color banding happens

Most of content and screens are 24 bit (8 bit per channel). It can represent much less colors than our eye can see. So, you can clearly see the transition between 2 closest colors if colors are flat. You don’t notice that on the images like photos without solid gradients mostly,

@@0soft Not very convenient to add noise artifacts in order to remove banding, which is already an artifact. The image may have less banding but now it has degraded pixel quality as well.
