Life saver mate, worked for my 2019 Astra (GM Family) so I guess they use this same system across a lot of vehicles and no one has it mapped out as simple as you.

Thank you for filming exactly how to do it! I need to transport some things and it really helps to remove the headrest.

Same procedure for Opel/Vauxhall Astra 2011. I wouldn't have done it without your video. Thanks so much.

You're the man for this. I made some cuts and moved the foam under the caps for easy access to the metal loops next time. I used a small drilling bit to push the loop outward.

Good point for those who want to make a cut and such. Thanks for sharing.

That head rest sucks!!! Nommater how you adjust it it won't let you put your head back. So your head it always more forward than you want it and it F's with your neck. Thank you so much!!!
@Tamarinera238 ай бұрын
Totally agree. Make sure to put it in backwards, though, because you do need something to stop your head in case of an accident.

Thank you so much. Your explanation and video is just awesome. Will try this out.

The second demonstration is siper useful, with the direction of push ineicated. If you're finding a lot of resistance, you're pushing in rhe wrong direction. He's right: it's easy! Note that if you are aiming to reverse the headrest so that it does not push your head forward all the time, the clips will not engage once you have turned the headrest around. So it will just be sitting in there, but I can't imagine that should cause a problem.

You don’t need a screwdriver if you look on the other side where the pin will come out it’s called a card a pin so what he is doing is pushing it through the other side look underneath the felt you can use your finger and pull it out it’s easy

This didn’t work for me, but I’m glad it worked for so many other people. I just couldn’t get those pins to release.
@ch4.hayabusa4 жыл бұрын
I spent half an hour trying to push the pin in... No success. Then I sat in the back seat and took a small flat head and pulled the silver ring away from the seat... Success! Probably pulling it away from the seat would have also worked.

Thanks a lot Dee Jay. For my Opel Ampera-E 2020 it worked the same way. The only thing you need to check upfront: are you dealing with an active headrest (somehow connected to your safety system, for instance the vauxhall insignia, see kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2bdk3SOjKpnppo). In my case the headrest was not connected. So it was a piece of cake, once you've seen how to do it. I also attached tie-wraps to the clips, so I can remove the headrest without using any tools. And I'm going remove it a lot of times to transport my windsurf equipment.
