Very helpful video! I’m doing a project on my sportster 48 and I have to take off the tank, I was about to just remove the black cover that has all the system in the tank but you saved me from maybe screw everything up, thank you!
@GreatEgret5 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, man! Yeah, removing the tank is pretty easy to do once you know what needs to happen and it makes working on the wiring loom so much easier.
@munirsaab25295 жыл бұрын
Great Egret right! And I can’t stop! I need to remove the rear fender but I realize that the lights wires are attached to a little plastic that it is attached too to the fender, I don’t really know what to do, cut them and then just re-wire them or pull them removing the plastics... but anyways, thanks again!
@GreatEgret5 жыл бұрын
Clipping the wires won't do you any good unless you want to replace your tail lights. You'll still have to remove the bolt holding the lights, wiring, and the housing together. It's a sneaky little bolt that's hiding behind that cover between the outside of the fender and the housing for the tail light wiring. Watching your video now I think I’m going to empty the tank before I put it back on that way I won’t be worried about any gas billing when I put it back on

The fuel vent line- what is it and what does it do? Thanks
@GreatEgret4 жыл бұрын
Fuel can expand and pressure can build up in the tank. This vent hose is to release that pressure or allow fuel to expell if the tank is full and simultaneously has pressure expansion.
@TonysGarage6 жыл бұрын
Nice Job, that fuel pump plug is a real pain!

Tony Cox thanks Tony! Yeah, that little bugger can be a struggle. Removing the tank was such a good way to do the wire tuck. Made it so much easier I think.

PS: shout out to you on the wire tuck/coil relocation video and a link in the description. I haven't decided if I'll upload on Friday or Monday.

Well done video! So..for us non-HD 883 owners....is there a benefit to these mods?
@GreatEgret6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ron! Some H-D riders that do a tank lift claim that there is better handling, but truthfully this mod is done for only for aesthetics. Gives the bike a cleaner look.

Right on! BTW-I did a vlog in the rain Monday and gave your video on riding in the rain a shout-out. I figure that some of the folks who watch my vids might give it a look. Love the color of that bike, by the way. I watch another channel and the guy has the same color, maybe even the same model. motorickyricardo is his channel name, check hom out.

Thanks for the shout-out man! i appreciate it. I've forgotten to strap my chinstrap a time or two as well :-) I'll check out motorrickyricardo for sure. I'll be adding another bike to the stable on Saturday. Teaser it's not H-D. Thanks again!

They may be old because they're my garage jeans, but I'm pretty sure they are Levis.
