Agree with Tyler sir thank you for videos. Question when you lift tank in front only does it affect fuel capacity useable because of tank no longer being level especially cause drain for fuel injectors is midway on tank???
@PCPAyLOAD7 жыл бұрын
Really good explanation about not pinching/chafing the wiring once you are done wrapping and place the tank back. Super important and usually never well shown and explained. Plan on doing the same to my 48 here in the next couple weeks.

For sure. And instead of the metal riser pieces for the tank lift, you can actually just stuff a gag ball in there. Don't forget to use loctite!

How did you pull off getting the bundle of wires under the tank at the base near the seat? I would think that the wire bundle would be too big to get between the tank and the backbone. Thanks in advance! 🤙🏻

Hey man, great video I have a question; do you think a wire tuck will help create some slack in the throttle cables on my 2019 Harley Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight XL1200X? It has the exact same wiring set up and I’m just a half inch shy of needing some slack for my 10in mini apes I recently put on.

If your bike has an alarm, first turn on the ignition all the way (do not start the bike!). Then remove the main fuse. Leave the ignition on until you've finished working on the bike and have reconnected the fuse. Otherwise, your alarm may get triggered.

+Emmanuel Leonides Tbh I liked it where it was, especially as it was by the handlebar lock, so it was easy to do both. But wanted to clean up that area, and most kits / brackets they make relocate it to the left. Also looks nice / has a symmetry between the heads on the left side above the cool, just took a little getting used to 👍🏼

Hope you understand what I mean and thanks again
@Mordorer2 жыл бұрын
I k ow you’re not asking me and this is an old comment but no I don’t think he did, my concern was that you lose fuel capacity when you tilt your tank back. I dig the look and always wanted it but as it is a 3.3gl tank I believe loses .5 gl… my only concern.
@NoXQc2 жыл бұрын

@_lowcountry6 жыл бұрын

@Freddy4life088 жыл бұрын
i personally would of went with a shrink wrap instead of tape. its a lot of work, but it looks way cleaner. Still love the bike!
@BlockheadMoto8 жыл бұрын
+Freddy4life08 The silicon tape holds great, it's what's recommended for the job by many companies as well. I've used shrink wrap before, would have been more difficult for this application as you're not really cutting any wires, just relocating them from bottom / side of spine to top. God you like the bike, thank you for the kind words 👍🏼
@mattgardner37636 жыл бұрын
Freddy4life08 the problem with shrunk wrap is you will have to remove the connectors first. Big margin for error there.
@obfuscated30906 жыл бұрын
Depinning the connectors to do that requires the special tool and is quite the asspain. I use heat shrink for new harnesses and some extensions/repairs though.

If you don't do the lift, you can still do a tuck, but run the wire bundle on the side of the spine instead of on top between the tank and spine. Check the link in description, I believe there's a link to a forum post where they do a wire tuck and no tank lift.
