This works. I am in Australia and used Palmolive dish liquid and white vinegar coles brand in equal measure. I also used a coconut fibre scrubber to get in the nooks and crannies. Squeegeed off the bill of the bubbles after ten or so minutes. I found a small watering can to rinse. Be careful… your flor tiles will be slippery! I will give the glass another rinse and dry before using good old windex for the final polish. This video is truly one of the best I have come across in relation to shower door cleaning. Coming from a real skeptical place, I thought I had nothing to lose, so I tried this. Let me tell you, this is 100% legit and worked amazingly! I don't have Dawn in Australia so used any dish soap. I'd say for those extra stubborn stains to do this process twice but this method works above all else!! Thank you!!

Great cleaning advice. I found that after I rinse off the soap just squeegee it and forget the windex & paper towels. Save a tree. To keep your shower clean until the next time, squeegee after every use. No water marks.

This worked like a champ! I used different soap but the concept is the same. It's mostly the straight up 100% vinegar sitting for fifteen minutes. I did it a second time while taking a shower to clean the doors off. Easy Peasy!

We had our bathroom renovated six months ago, including new custom glass shower doors. We have very hard water. Unfortunately, it didn't take long to begin to stain the glass. I finally had a chance to try this method today. The result was in a word... Awesome! It was simple and quick with very little effort. After 2 years I had tried it all spent $100´s and just about given up on all "special cleaning products from major brands" "special professionals" and " special youtubers" they are all very special all right, I hold them all in a very special place. I put this mixture in a spray bottle, apply it to the glass shower, leave it for a couple of minutes, use a sponge to wipe, then rinse. We have three shower heads and one is detachable, which makes it super easy to rinse. This mixture is the only thing that gets rid of soap scum for me. I even have our housekeeper use it when she cleans the shower. It's awesome!

It WORKED! I have frameless shower doors and wipe down daily. I had a shady spot at the bottom the door that I could not get rid of and they suggested not to use harsh chemicals so I tried your trick and it worked thank you so much

This works really well. When you rinse the solution from the doors the floor gets very slippery so be careful you do not slip in the shower when you are cleaning it.

works well with smaller jobs. If working on more stubborn spots, I just finished my shower doors: Scrubbing Bubbles to de-crust. CLR and 0000 steel wool takes rest off. Finish with good 'ole Windex to get all the smears off. It looks great!

That’s awesome! Did you ever try LIME-AWAY? My shower door was 10 years of neglect in the making! I searched and found your page. Had some LIME-A-WAY for faucet heads and decided to try it first. If it didn’t work, I was going to use your method. I sprayed it on the door, starting at the bottom, after I got to the top, I started wiping it with a sponge and my door is squeaky clean. I couldn’t believe it! I had the dawn and vinegar ready just in case!

Tried this yesterday and it worked a treat! However it took two coats to do it! Thank you so much! British people I used the blue fairy liquid from Asda with some white malt vinegar.. although the smell was nearly unbearable (I hate vinegar at the best of times) wish I could post my results! Thanks for the tip. I just used it on an aquarium with a heavy hard water stain. I applied the recipe and let it sit for 15-20 min, scrubbed, re applied and scrubbed again and it all came right off. Like majic!!! Crystal clear again. My only regret is not taking before pics

The rinse phase is A LOT easier if you have a shower arm... And it totally avoids the need to use paper towels and window cleaner on the inside (which invites streaks and more work).

i absolutely love this! i see great results. i mixed in some bar keepers friends powder which you can get at walmart and instead of using the window cleaner i just used water and a squeegee to take it off. i’ve had a hard time trying to take off the stains for a while now, but this actually worked! overall i really recommend, thank you so much

For what it is worth, we live in a very basic rural property in the Philippines, and my wife and I like to keep the place clean, but we are not bothered about a showroom finish - so we did not bother with the final going-over with paper towel. However, just using the washing-up liquid and vinegar mix, 15 minutes, then a hose down (we are used to wet bathroom floors here most of the time, just a PH thing) left us with a finish that is better than when our shower was installed. Before I cleaned it today the glass in the shower cubicle was looking really grotty, with water marks - it is now almost 9/10 or even 10/10. Thanks again.

Tried this method today and want to share my experience. My shower door hasn’t been cleaned for a long time so it didn’t clean it very well in the first round. Also the amount of soap used made it very hard to rinse clean. Since vinegar is doing most of the job I tried to just soak some paper towel with vinegar and stick it to my shower door for a couple of minutes and it works great without scraping. And you don’t need many paper towel either since it can be reused.

I use citric acid instead and they are cheaper and with less smell! Comes in both liquid form and powder form to mix with water.

The only advantage to the Dawn is that it has a rinse agent built-in. It isn't a necessity though.

Treat it with rain-x after cleaning it. Helps keep it from getting spotted as quickly. Also squeegee the glass after every shower.

@@butterflyforeve No, turtle wax leaves a residue on any non smooth surfaces (like grout, non smooth tile, any crevices) and is a pain to put on and take off. Any modern sealant is better than turtle wax. I know, I'm actually a detailer. Turtle wax is old news.

Yes it works well because it has citric ACID in it. I use a product called Strike from Woolworths @ $2.50/bottle with citric acid and it is the best shower door cleaner I have ever used.

Have you tried cutting the soap down to about a 1/4th up? There will still be enough of it to clean, and the Vinegar is the cutting agent. Mainly the soap is there to hold the vinegar on the glass a lot longer than if it were straight vinegar on the glass or shower walls, and allows it to work longer. This also makes the clean up a lot easier.

Will this work on ceramic tiles? Mine are really bad slime from years turned brown tiles into almost white. Will appreciate your input if this will work. Thanks

Heather Rudy diy potions, clr, other professional products. I will say, dont leave on too long.. it will start to ETCH the glass.. when dried , it left a whitish haze and I had to coat it with oil.. so far its still good.. I actually wrote that review BEFORE it completely dried..

Great result! Though I would not use "window cleaner" on windows. It always leaves a film. Just use vinegar and water. Trust me. Clean and no streaks or film. My mom taught me that.

True Vulgarian If you don’t like the smell of vinegar that much, you can just use water and soap. Dawn works best. You don’t need a lot. It’s all in the squeegee. Invest in a good one and make sure the edges on the rubber aren’t worn out.

7Mushrooms7 I forgot to mention that it would be best to use a window cleaning mop to scrub the window with first, squeegee it off and detail leftover water around edges or door handles with a towel (microfiber or surgical) You can use a bucket to mix the water and soap in so you can dip the mop in the bucket or if it’s only a few windows, you can just put a little bit of soap on the mop and wet it with water from the sink so you won’t have to waste so much water or soap.

Great video. How did you clean your shower floor? I have this same shower floor (Travertine)? We have the same floor in our shower as you and fear ruining the fragile tile with vinegar.

Just tried this. It works great! If you don't have a hand held shower it takes forever to get the soap suds off.

Love this method, i warm up the vinegar and use a spray bottle. I spray and walk away. Then i just wipe it off.

I don’t think it removes the hard water stains. Can remove other things but did not remove hard water stains. I have less stains than shown in this video. My stains are visible from an angle. I was just hoping to get rid of them so that it does not get worst.

It looked promising while it was wet. However, once the door was dry, the hard water stains were still there. I really do not think that there is anything that will remove the etched in hard water/soap scum
