As a filmmaker, this is one of the few “how to do” vids that is clearly communicated. Plus, you had camera placements nailed down. Much thanks.

@JohnsonsSmallEngines mine is a dls 3500 but you gave me the basic understanding. Thanks man. I gotta replace the right side housing that spins the blade. I think it is bogging it down and stopping it. What do you think? I push the engagement and it kills the engine.

Thank you so much for posting this. I hit a big rock while mowing, and something got very out of alignment in my mowing deck. With this video I was able to remove the deck (so a trained repair person could fix it), and then put it back once the problem was resolved. I looked at several similar videos, and none of the others captured the steps so clearly on camera as you did.

Love how you use your armstub as a hammer! That is excellent! Maybe you should look into getting like a prosthetic thing, where you can attach tools :)
@JohnsonsSmallEngines2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. LOL the only way I would do a Prosthetic is a clone of a left hand surgically implanted but I don’t think that will be available before I’m gone.
@roidanielsen60332 жыл бұрын
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines I see, any particular reason for not getting a "traditional" prosthetic? Or just personal preference?
@JohnsonsSmallEngines2 жыл бұрын
@@roidanielsen6033 I had one when I was young and it was not a natural feeling. Did not like the way it was held on to my body. Tried on a fake electric hand when I was older and one hit with a hammer and it would have been very expensive to repair. I have done very well without one, so to answer you, “personal preference”.
@roidanielsen60332 жыл бұрын
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines cool, I've never had to give much thought to how it feels to wear any prosthetics, so I wasnt even thinking about that! I saw another video with a guy who was missing his legs above the knees I think, and he had some kind of attachments. Can't remember exactly where I saw it, but he was definitely having an advantage working in a lower height area, because he could simply remove the lower legs 😃

Greetings from Puerto Rico! I recently changed all the belts and now doesn't speed up like before. Runs from 1 to 7 but I think runs up to 3 or 4 even when you move up to the 7 the level. Any hint?

I don’t know what model you have and some are different than others. I can say, If you have two transmission drive belts? You need to purchase the OEM “original equipment manufacturer “ belts or what you described will happen.

Most of the time it is worn out bulb where the lead is at the tip of f the bulb due to vibration. I would try new bulbs first. They should be 1157 on the machine in the video. If that doesn’t work. Next you will need a volt meter. Check power at the plug near frame where it connects at the hood. You may need the engine running to check or switch in the on position or both. If you have 12volts when switch is on most likely the bulbs are bad. If you do not have voltage, you would need to trace wiring back to find the issue.

Maybe you can help me with another problem . . . . I recently replaced the carburetor on a Craftsman LT 1000. Now it starts right up, definitely has power, only one problem and that is that the engine "races." I guess that is how to best describe it . . . accelerates a little bit, decelerates a little bit, maybe oscillating might be a better description, anyway.... any suggestions? I have not adjusted anything on the carburetor .... many thanx!!
@JohnsonsSmallEngines2 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it’s running lean. Meaning not getting enough gas. Does it hunt and surge at idle? Is the cart aftermarket?? Because if it is, most are junk. I have tried a few but haven’t had much luck.
@rvalens2 Жыл бұрын
Adjust the air/fuel mixture on the carburetor, it's running too lean. Clockwise gives it more gas, counter-clockwise leans it out. After you have done that, adjust the idle. If you don't know how, there are plenty of videos on KZbin that show to do it. It also helps if you install a better brand of carburetor. I prefer Walbro over the Nikki carbs. FYI, a lot of the aftermarket carbs are garbage. I would only order those that get high marks on Amazon.
