How to: Remove New Version HP 564 910 920 902 934 935 OEM Cartridge Chips

Many users transfer HP's chips to a 3rd party cartridge. The new HP chips are notoriously hard to remove. The chip is embedded in the cartridge. Heating the glue may also damage the chip. Furthermore, even if you removed the chip successfully, you will need to buy a chip adapter (aka blocker or holder) to secure it on the new cartridge. In this video, we tried a cold method. The result will not need a chip adapter, and the process doesn't cost any extra money.

I came up with a much easier method of moving the chips on the latest HP 910 ink cartridges. Only two tools necessary: a good sharp razor blade, and a common kitchen toaster. Not kidding. On the newest version, the chip is located on the opposite side of the small PCB that has the 4 contacts. The chip is soldered to the PCB, but its also glued or molded into the plastic of the cartridge body. If you try to pry out the small PCB from the cartridge without the help of the toaster, the chip will separate from the PCB and remain embedded in the body of the cartridge. The trick is to use the toaster to heat up the end of the cartridge where the chip PCB is. You want the plastic hot enough where it just starts to soften or melt. Then immediately use the razor blade to pry the chip PCB out, re-heating as necessary. The chip itself is black, and if you are successful, you will see it on the back side of the contacts. I removed 3 chips with a 100% success rate. The trick is finesse with the amount of heat from the toaster. I also recommend you set the toaster to the highest time possible, and remember to reset it before you use it to make toast!

does this still work?. My 4 HP 564 Cartridges was replaced with 4 non-Hp Cartridges in my HP5510 printer. I get the message "Used or Counterfeit Cartridge detected". What i have done: 1. i switched the non-Hp cartridges and replaced them with the 4 old HP cartridges that are now empty. I am still getting that same message. 2. I replaced only the black cartridge (because i only print in black) with a new HP black cartridge and i put the old empty HP cartridges.. But i am still getting that same message "Used or Counterfeit Cartridge detected". 3. I have disabled the bilateral settings in the printer properties (i can't find the bilateral option box setting anymore in my printer properties) 4. i have disabled the chip setting feature on the printer itself. 5. i have cleaned the print head several times. My printer has been printing blanks no matter what cartridge i put in. What's wrong?. The only thing i haven't done is to buy the rest of the 3 Hp cartridge (colors) and put them in the printer( because it is expensive). What am i doing wrong?. And how can i solve this problem?.
