How to Remove Paper from a Paper Pieced Quilt Top

My stitches were short enough, but I have tiny pieces or "residue" of the paper that is still in the seams. Any options for removing those? I find myself picking away and then possibly breaking the thread and have to restitch. Very frustrating. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hi Brenda, If its only tiny pieces I don't think you need to worry about it too much. If they aren't visibly on the front of the quilt you are probably doing fine. Next time, try to make your stitches even a smidge smaller and see if it makes a difference.

Hi Felicia from Melbourne, Australia, Are your Blocks here the 4” size. Are your prices in $US? Where do I find how to make the Stars for the blocks in the middle. Can you do a video on that or tell me where? Thankyou. I love it. I would probably put a boarder on it. I guess i would leave that paper in until the boarder is on. Thankyou

HI Viddy. these blocks are 5". I don't have them available in my shop yet, but they should be up in the next 2-3 weeks. I am currently waiting for the quilt to make it back from the long armer so I can put the binding on and take some pretty pictures. Oh, and one more thing:). unless you are using super raveling fabric like dupioni silk, I would probably take the paper off before putting on the border fabric you are planning on.
