How to Remove Paper Sheets from a Watercolor Block Safely

Its worth noting that you can also use a palette knife or even a butter knife to separate the sheets from a watercolour block. I just prefer a craft knife as it gets in between the sheets slices through the glue easier for me, but its true you do have to be a bit more careful not to scratch the sheets when using a craft knife. Also, if you are a watercolour artist you might be wondering why I would separate the sheets before using them (as many watercolour artists use the sheets directly on the block itself). The reason is that I predominantly use pencil, coloured pencil and charcoal with this paper and I find that the sheets are easier for me to use separated from the block and placed on my drawing board. The block though is really convenient for having lots of sheets on hand for small scale works, securely stored in the glue binding so they don't get creased or bent in storage.
