Hey you can avoid that by adding a child theme. This way even if the main theme gets updated the child theme will retain all additional codes. This is the primary reason we use child themes.

Works great. For 2022 version of Astra Theme, I didn't install/activate the child theme. It worked on the parent Astra theme itself. Thank you!

Once you update the parent theme, it may overide the code.
