In this video, Dick talks about one of his top shop tips - how to remove push lock hose without damaging the fitting. After inventing the EZ-ON Hose Press, it only seemed fitting to give some tips on removing the hose after using the EZ-ON Hose Press.

Thanks Mate.. I will definitely do that in future as Im a Marine Engineer and parts are a little hard to come by sometimes out at sea .Sweet trick of the trade.

Have you tried heating hose with a heat gun? It will get loose and come off

That's a great tip, But how about if it has steel braid on the hose. I use one of those 3-Inch Air Cut-Off Tools. I hold it in a vise and carefully cut down to just before the hose, then peel the braid off with gloves of course, then I use your method to cut the hose off. Also when there is a swaged collor on it, its even more tricky. I put the hose in a vise then I cut the collar just before the braid with the cut off wheel then I use a chisel, I angle it then hit it with a hammer to break the collar peel it back and remove the collar, then i shave the braid with the cut off tool to losen up the braid, wiggle the fitting back and forth and remove the fitting. This is done in company I work for. all rework comes to me to remove the fittings that were either put on out of orintation or other issues. Any suggestion would be appriciated. thanks
