Hello. I have a 2015 E-350 Benz, and the Auxiliary battery malfunctioned. I sprayed the bolts with WD-40 2X each, for 3 days in a row. And BAM, Surprise, (the battery's bolts were covered with corrosion before), and now the WD-40 Cleared Up the corrosion and Battery Works great! Saved me $250++. HOPE this helps everyone! Happy New Year! Thanks for this Vid all the same. Ps. if you use this method and the battery is till Not working, keep spraying it daily, it will Revive, especially if you're in Cold weather like North East USA. Do this also on the Main battery next to your engine so it keeps it Form Corrosion!

Great Video....Thank you for posting it. My battery is located in the trunk in my 2014 E350 (US model). The cost for the OEM part from a Mercedes dealer was $210 without the returning the core ($45.00 old battery) so $210.00 - $45.00 = $165.00 my total cost.

All very useful thank you. Second batteries all new to me. Only thing missing is that there was a hard plastic cover over the aux battery. I have to discover how to remove the two plastic knobs that look like trim buttons. I have a trim tool. Tomo perhaps.

It works. But that battery doesn’t have a hole for the degassing pipe.

Hi 👋🏻 there, I got question. What if the new battery doesn’t have a port and it’s not connected to this degassing pipe ?? 🤔 My auxiliary battery was gone and since can’t find here that particular Mercedes Fiamm , was installed a Banner (Austrian company) battery, but now the degassing pipe sit aside and not connected. The car work properly for now, W 204 face lift. Thanx in advance for your reply 🤗

hi I have changed the aux battery on my 2013 ML 63 and now the car doesn’t start only the ignition comes on Any thoughts ? Did you have to reset/plug the obd in after changing the aux battery?

I had my main battery replaced last week on my B200 d 2014,..(Australia)..by Mercedes roadside assist (contracted out, so no mercedes technicians) have issues with eco start since, (failed to restart at an intersection, not good) Is there any resets needed with this,.. I fixed the clock..! Now today I have an alert on my dash,.. auxiliary battery malfunction!.. Maybe I now need an auxiliary battery also.. awaiting appointment at Mercedes in two weeks for technical check etc.. Any advice in the meantime?.. thank you. battery?

Hi, from what I know the start stop function is based on the main battery and not the auxillary one. This battery is used supportive features such as the collision assist , probably climate control as you mentioned.

I have a CLS 63s AMG and the stop start is powered by the auxiliary battery - in fact the replacement battery states Stop Start battery in big letters on the front!🤔

It depends on the model. My E350 CDI uses the auxiliary battery for the brake hold feature, auto stop/start and to operate the gear shifter if the main battery fails.

My W212 trunk battery negative terminal is corroded. How should I approach this? BTW, Rock Auto sells the Bosch equivalent for $125 delivered.

Just sand off the corrosion, should be fine as long as its all gone.

Hi I've got a B-class 13 plate I went to Halfords to get my auxiliary battery tested because my eco is not working and they won't touch it because they have changed them on other cars and the car ended up with faults can you please tell me can this happen?

Best to get it on a scan tool to determin what the errors are.

Had the same issue. Replaced it. Fault came up- No sound from the speakers 😮. Error says ‘Mute Cable’ malfunction.

The battery may need charging if it has been sat in a wharehouse etc, give the car a long drive and it should reset.

Wera tool? These batteries are all different in the models, the smaller models the terminals are just spade connectors.
