Because of this video, the instructions, the view at different angles as well as the personal advice you gave. I actually replaced the transmission in our 2015 chevy cruze ls 1.8l. myself👌👩🔧 I mean it looks as good as it now sounds. The engine lined up perfectly, everything is torqued and back in place, even replaced the brakes. No more gears slipping, no more whining noises, no more no acceleration, no more stuck at home lol My papas whole life savings went into this car. Only to have it broke down 31 days later. SMH I'm so glad I was able to help him when he's always helped me 💯 and I owe you sir, a huge thank you! For recording this video and for free! God bless you frl

Hey mate I’m doing this type of repair but my transmission is gone but the rear main seal is not as you would be well aware the seal is behind the transmission so you actually have to pull the transmission out to get to it!… Niw I’m in Australia and have the 1.4 turbo and yes right hand drive lol so far I’ve done everything upto the plugs under the battery tray which I did like you said but broke the tab so can’t part the 2 plugs but I don’t think it will be a big deal, I’ve taken the driveshafts out don’t forget there’s a bracket to unbolt on the longer shaft!… so now I’m upto unbolting and removing the undercarriage it’s a big job but I’m learning a lot!… great in-depth video mate and thank you!…

Finished the repair took it for a drive got about 5 kms up the road stopped at a set of lights noticed the engine running a little rough so slowly took foot off brake and revved the car to take off as was on a steep incline next minute bang!… the car wouldn’t go forward I had to roll the car down the hill get out of the way of traffic and call a tow I noticed I left lots of oil on the road… so got it home got it up on jack stands i unfortunately can turn one wheel seperately from the other while other stays stationary and yes there’s a lot of clicking grinding noise so something has gone do I bother pulling it apart again or is the transmission blown?…

Question that im having trouble finding answers. My 2013 1.4 automatic started having trans issues. Rpm guage bouncing along with speedometer. Check engine light and flashing "D". Ran codes and had historic fault P0723 and pending fault P2723 & P0700. Thought is was output speed sensor. Changed it and after driving around and getting trans up to 185° it started messing up again. I've been a home mechanic most my life. Sounds like a bad TCM. Rather change that then the whole trans. But as you pointed out watch for numbers to get away from reprogramming. I took a pic of the TCM just in case. What are your thoughts on my problem? What about swapping the TCM? Love your videos. Thanks in advance!

Do You happen to know whether the GM 6t45 tranny installed on Chevy Cruze is exactly the same 6t45 on Orlando? And another, more personal question: what made You decide for swapping the whole tranny vs replacing the burnt out & leaking interiors of the old one - is rebuilding the old tranny a more challenging task in Your opinion? Thanks, YK.

Hi bud, how are you doing? I really need your help. I added an ATF cooler because I always have had issues with my car's transmission due to heat, but I just wanted to make sure of the ATF cooler lines. There are two lines connected between the transmission and the radiator. My question: is the upper line connected to the readiator the one which carries the cooled ATF back to the transmission? All I know is that the fluid leaves the transmission and enters the radiator from the bottom line and goes back to the transmission through the top line. Please tell me am I right?
@s33therfan Жыл бұрын
You are correct , the cooler itself usually does not matter which way the lines connect .The transmission lower is the feed and upper the return. Thanks for the question.
@TheKhwailed Жыл бұрын
@@s33therfan Yes. Regarding the cooler it doesn't matter. But the thing here is that I wanted to make sure "which line I cut". And this is what I did: I cut the upper line and re-routed it to the new ATF cooler which I have installed right infront of the A/C's radiaror (can be seen from the grill). I cut the line and welded a male hose connector so that the ATF doesn't go directly to the transmission as before, but to the new cooler and then back to the same line to the transmission. This way, the ATF should be cooled twice, with the heat exchanger inside the radiator, and the new air-cooled ATF cooler. I also added more ATF to compensate for the new total capacity after adding the cooler. One more thing, the engine temp is normal, but when I open the hood, it's hot like hell!! Any idea why?

I'm in the middle of doing this as well. I'm watching your video, going step by step. My papa and i (this is his vehicle, chevy cruze) just like yours he's 80 & doesn't need to be getting underneath the car and doing all this anymore so I'm the only one to help out. Im stuck at the two connectors underneath the battery. They are giving me all kinds of shit I mean I can't get them to unhook from one another. Pretty sure I already broke the clip part on one of them already and that's not cool. I'm normally very patient but it's already been a day and a half and I'm running out of patience 😔 any advice cuz like it's driving me crazy I'm about to have a cusing fit up in here
@s33therfan Жыл бұрын
Those connectors can be one of the most challenging part of the job. I keep an assortment of pik tools to remove them. A lot of times you have to lift the clip with the pik tool because the plastic is worn out. Another problem is all the heat in the engine bay , so on top of weak clips , they will often be brittle and break. This is impossible to avoid in a lot of cases. Great job tackling this yourself and keep up the good work.
@Firecracker89 Жыл бұрын

If you changed the techm and do not have the programmer or ac delco subscription , the best thing to do is call a mobile mechanic. Dealer can do it , but will be more expensive , plus the cost of towing. Hope this helps.

Another great video from S33therfan! My first comment went deleted, so I'll keep this short. Watched nearly the entire video. I've never done this repair, but what's the advantage to removing the subframe from the trans, before lowering both the subframe and trans together on the movers dolly? Too much weight and ackward? I see you had the car pretty high to drop it down, maybe with the subframe attached to the trans you would have had to go even higher with the car body?
@s33therfan2 жыл бұрын
Great question. The first issue would be as you say awkward. Separating the trans from the engine with the subframe attatched might not be possible either. Another issue unless you are using an engine support from up top ( cross brace ) I would not be able to slide the move dolly out for my blocks or jack stand supporting the engine. However , I have dropped both the engine and tran together with this type of set and it was really simple , but more work disconecting all the engine components etc. Thanks for the feedback.
