I have the same knife but Im still getting confident with it. We use one of those plastic prickly rose strippers at my work.. but Im messing up my hands and I really dont like processing roses. Looking for solutions. How do you avoid hurting your hands on the thorns? Im looking into gloves maybe even. After mothers day week my hands and arms are all beat up

Hi Fawn, I hear you. Roses can be a bit of a pain! I think the method I’ve shared with you here is the best for all intents and purposes. Holding the stem just below the head and twirling it as you use the knife to strip off the thorns makes it quick, easy, and mostly pain free. I don’t like using gloves, but it could be a good solution while processing roses. The trick is to find a tight enough fitting pair so that your hands are still nimble while the palm side still has enough protection. I’ve got a basic pair from Home Depot that work well for this. Unfortunately, having your hands and arms beat up after a big gig is par for the course, but if you wear the right clothes - and perhaps with gloves, it should lighten the load. 🩷

Yeah totally! Even hot or boiling depending on the rose. 👍🏻
