Trail Rash. Its a badge of courage, but man you went full send on it! Glad to see your Jeep back good as new! Just be sure yo remember that the compound is like liquid sandpaper. Your removing clear coat layer by layer. Eventually, you will run out of clear coat and need to get your paint re-sealed, but you would need to buff a LOT before that happens. Keep up the good work!
@CheaperJeeperTV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks MyBluJL, It's all due to your tip in your video! Thanks. I know not to buff too much on the clear coat. I figured by not using an orbital polisher, and just elbow grease, it would be easier to control that. Cheers.

Great tips on removing trail rash! My 2021 Rubicon has scratches on it already, so I'm going to give your process a try. I actually have both these products from another project I did. Thanks! Your Jeep looks fantastic, by the way!

Hey Dave, Thanks. Let me know how yours turns out. I just kept rubbing on the same location until I was satisfied with what scratches were removed. If there are very many deep scratches, I'm not sure how it may turn out however. Cheers.

Hi! Thank you posting the video for getting rid of scratches. Wife and did some offroading in our 2 door 3 pedal 22 Willys. Got some racing stripes on jeep from narrow trails. Will def try rubbing compound and turtle wax product. Here is tip I just learned from another channel. Use peanut butter on the black mirrors, and bumpers to bring back shine. Tried it on my mirrors, worked great! Thanks again for your video.

Great looking Jeep! I'm buying both of those products tomorrow!
@CheaperJeeperTV3 жыл бұрын
Hey The Eclectic, I was amazed at how well those products work. For some reason, when I did my wife's Jeep, hers came out even better...lol An electric buffer would help things go a little quicker, but I want to learn to do it properly so I don't wreck anything on my paint. Also, the Ceramic Coating Spray is phenomenal. Cheers.

In the old days, guys would often apply wall paper before a run where tree scratches are likely. Mind you, peeling it off wasn’t fun, and I’m unsure how many scratches were actually prevented. Thanks for the McQuires tip. I’ve always used my orbital polisher…and, yes, you can burn thru the clear coat. Ask me how I know. :)

Good Job Dino. I’ve given up getting rid of trail rash. I no sooner polish it out and I add some pinstripes. Lol. A good coat of wax does help to prevent scratches.

Meguiar's Ultimate Compound is the best. If you use an electric buffer, it goes 10x faster. My wife's Jeep is white so it doesn't show the scratches as bad. We use all Meguiar's products.

Hey Corey, a buffer is on my wish list for sure....any suggestions as to which buffer I should get? Cheers.
Damn amazing It literally went to zero scratches amazing. Those road branch scratches are definitely deeper but good removal. I think Jeep’s have a thicker clear coat because they know you will probably scratch it in the trail
@CheaperJeeperTV3 жыл бұрын
Hey There, Thank you for the feedback. Interestingly, I see some of the scratches showing up again, but this spring, I'll just buff them out again. Thanks for watching. I hope you check out some of the other videos. Cheers.

@@CheaperJeeperTV I think the product technically just fills them in they usually are considered soft gentle products for the weekend detailer. A buffer would be a better option because it’s more aggressive and it’s permanent. One question for you I have bird poop on my car and what products do you recommend to safely remove it . I go to a car wash with my black gladiator and develop scratches on the coat it drives me nuts my truck is only 2 months old.
@CheaperJeeperTV3 жыл бұрын
@@scott9352 I would search "remove bird poop from paint" on KZbin, and that way you'd also have visual instruction on how to approach that. In my opinion, I'd avoid car washes that impart hair line scratches in your paint for sure. If you already have a buffer, I'd be searching on KZbin for videos on hairline scratch removal too. I use a genuine sheepskin wool mitt, or microfibre cloth when washing my Jeep, sponges, and synthetic wool mitts also cause hairline scratches. Good luck, and enjoy your Gladiator!!! They look great!

Hey JL Johnny, I'm not sure what to say about the undercarriage. I've heard of people who put the sprinkler under their Jeep for 30 minutes, then move it around to clean the underside, but I don't have personal experience. Cheers.

Hi , When should I change the transmission ( gearbox ) fluid oil in my Jeep? It’s 2019 Sahara 3.6 auto 8 speed
@CheaperJeeperTV3 жыл бұрын
Hey khaledollii, There is not a simple answer to that question. ZF, the manufacturer of the actual transmission recommends the ATF fluid be changed after 70,000 to 80,000 miles. gearsmagazine.com/magazine/the-zf-8-speed-transmission-fluid-and-filter-change/ FCA says their 8 speed automatic transmission, made by ZF, is sealed, the fluid doesn't need to be changed, and the transmission is good for the life of the vehicle. What does that mean? Do they mean the transmission is good with the same fluid until the warranty is up? Interestingly, the article in the above link states that the transmission can be scanned to indicate the condition of the transmission. Maybe that could help in determining whether or not you should consider changing the fluid. There are many long strings in Jeep Wrangler Forums on this issue, and what most of the Jeep owners who plan to keep their Jeeps for a long time say, is they plan to have their fluid changed. I hope that helped. Cheers

Dino! What product are you using for your rear passenger side window vent! I followed your guide for making an inexpensive DIY solution a while back (work pretty good btw! I sanded the corners so they wouldn't cut up the window seal), but I'd love a more finished product recommendation if you have one :)
