I took my car to Carmax to get appraised and they offered me 10,400 because the paint needed a “respray” according to them due to several panels having scratches and fine scuffs. I stumbled upon your videos while trying to find a way to remove those blemishes without respraying. I ordered some solvent paint got some pads off amazon and went at it. I’m not going to lie and say everything came back like factory but you really had to look closely to notice the previous damage. I was able to get a higher appraisal and sold my 2017 pathfinder to them for $12,000. You helped me make an extra 1600 dollars! Any way I can buy you a beer?

It a great tip to take away and practice. Some manufacturers give touch up paint to new cars. I’ve got touch up paint in the past for stone chips. It’s hit and miss to whether you get enough of a paint drop that will fill the spot and shrink even.

The biggest challenge doing car paint repairs is getting matching paint. Sometimes i have had to buy multiple paints to get a match even when advertised as 100% colour match. I been doing DIY detailing for over 20 years and each repair is different. Understanding all this gets you good results. Your video is spot on.

I made sure not to over fill, I think the tank might be pressurising on hot days. Anyway can this be polished out or is it another trip to the shop. 🥺

Fantastic, thank you very much! I have an old beater and all the repair shops want to charge me an arm and a leg (1k+) to replace and paint entire panels or keep telling me it's not worth it. I think they know bloody well of this method, but prefer to charge extra or pressure me into buying a new car because of a few lousy scratches. Next thing you know, they'll tell you about sustainability and what not. Well thanks to you I'm gonna fix this myself now :-)

BTW if you want to make a no cut video, you should avoid transition effects too, as after you apply the paint you did transitions; which may push someone to assume you did something in between the transitions. Just saying as you want to make a point to not have cuts, which means you should have no cuts from the moment you smear that paint on the damage to the end results.

Just wanted to say thank you! My brand new BMW 330 had 2 scratches and the paint color is Tanzanite Blue.. I was quoted $1200 for the entire panel to be painted.. I saw your video and got myself a polishing machine and some paint matched to the vehicle.. I can’t tell where the scratches are anymore.. end result is that it looks like new.. thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! Absolutely brilliant! And all for under $250.. (plus now I have a polishing machine for future use) and it all took under 35 min. A+++ thanks again. Nate from Australia.

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve recently bought a 2 yr old Merc EQA and have a couple of marks not quite as bad as this that I was told would cost £1500 to put right (and I’m in the trade!) After watching this and reading the comments, I’m going to give it a go this week. I wasn’t looking for a video demonstrating how to repair small scuffs but glad I stumbled across it. Keep up the great work!! 😊

I tried this myself once a few years back off another KZbin video and the guy did not explain it as well as you did at all, and it did not come out great suffice to say. After seeing your video I’m going to have another go at some point in the coming weeks on my older car first then my newer one if I’m successful with it.
